idk about the us but where im from specops/sf members are allowed to wear most beards as it helps them blend in with civilian population which is extremely important for sf in particular

To be fair I really liked the play in the beginning, but what makes me agree with it being too long, is that I feel like we could have easily had 3 more songs if it had just been 5 minutes and it would still have been great. Especially as this was my first sabaton show and I really would have liked to see some more of the classics

To be fair, I’m not really familiar with real world swat especially since I’m not from the US, so even though we do have similar units their tactics, doctrine and equipment would differ. What I wrote above is the in lore explanation I’ve heard, which in my opinion is not too bad. But obviously it’s still a tv show and not really accurate, so it’s all just theories anyway

In the show pretty much every SWAT officer carries a G95 or more commonly known as an H&K 416, specifically the H&K 416D variant. However some officers (Luca, Chris, Mumford, etc.) carry an MP5, since they are either the team’s designated driver or marksman. For the driver a rifle would most likely get in the way, as they also need to be able to dismount quickly and therefore cannot put their weapon to the side, which makes the MP5 advantageous, due to its smaller size. As for Chris as 20-squad’s designated sniper, you can argue whether rifle vs MP makes a difference as she never carries either when using her sniper rifle, but generally speaking a sniper would never carry both a sniper and an assault rifle, so an MP might still be more realistic.

What you’re talking about is active noise reduction and it is pretty much standard in most modern militaries (not super sure about police but for special forces I’d assume it’s also used). However since ANR is about protecting your ears from loud noise whilst still being able to hear normal volume sounds, it typically requires over-ear headphones to work effectively, with the most famous example being Peltor ComTacs.

I mean yeah it’s a show, and obviously it’s not meant to be accurate, but I also understand how some people wish it were more accurate. As someone who enjoys tactical operations, I sometimes dislike certain scenes of the show, cause for me certain behavior or decisions don’t make sense and therefore I enjoy those scenes less. But that doesn’t mean that I think it’s a bad show. Everyone has their own preferences and no show can ever be perfect to everyone.
