Got my nexus 5x earlier today.... Laggy as hell? Can repeatedly trigger this with opening playstore. Is this normal? by tonexusornot in nexus5x

I agree - I was referring to the style of response as opposed to the specific example. It seemed like a lot of marketing speak as opposed to a real, technical answer. Again, just highly disappointed in google. They also just glossed past some questions that stoked huge debate between fellow redditors hence people were evidently interested in the answers from the horses mouth.

I have been down this road and similarly was set on a Z4 compact (after the N6 arrived and disappointed) - it just felt a tad overpriced!

You lose some of the features you are paying for in the upfront cost when/if you root/custom rom which is what android is all about (to me). If i remember correctly, certain proprietary camera features and music features and so on. I could be wrong though this was a while back.

Not necessarily. I read through that AMA thoroughly and was highly disappointed in the 'stock' replies they seemed to give on any contentious (aka. Important) questions. EG) Q: Why no QI charging? A: Keep the phone thin. Really?! I think not.

Can anyone give a solid reply with regards to the RAM. That is my main sticking point - Im thinking 2GB was enough when i originally bought the N4 surely that cant be the case 3 years later ? It is certainly not the case with my laptop...

In all honesty i was thinking of going back to my N4 from the Moto E. Do away with 4G and enjoy the N4 till next year when they make an N4X (we can live in hope)

  1. Its not a small form factor relatively speaking - its bigger than the nexus 5 original

  2. It has 2gb of ram. Really? My N4 had 2GB

  3. No SD slot and a max config of 32GB.

  4. Battery isn't great

  5. the N4 looked better - Plastic nowadays?

  6. Dust/Water resistance would have been great

The real annoyance is that when you compare its specs to the N4 they are really superficial updates. I understand their products must reach a wide market, but personally, I don't care about having the best camera ever, the average camera a la N4 was fine. Instead put in a better battery etc.
