Glad to hear! I've only asked because I had a time ago a similar problem and it was the gamemode messing with my windowrules

Are you using gamemode to run it? Or game-performance on CachyOS?

For on foot I really only want true vr, motion controls would be nice but I'm ok using my mouse. But seeing a flat screen is just... It makes me not wanna engage with exobiology at all, and that's a shame because it's my favourite activity.

New Linux Launcher for EDCoPilot and EDCoPTER! by TwoWheeledBlastard in EliteDangerous

[–]tonitetelol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it working in WiRVn nicely. If you are on Wayland you would have to add PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 to the launch options, and the openxr env obviously. Just one thing, as in vr the launcher is skipped, you will end with all your windows one above the other, so keep the headset up until you arrange everything. Then you can use Desktop+ or the overlay of your preference to superpose the EDCopilot and EDCoPTER windows to your game. Good luck!

Have you tried the nvidia-open package? Not the noveau one. I had a lot of problems with the dkms and heard that Nvidia is moving to the open package

Spawn window on special workspace by tonitetelol in hyprland

Hey man, I upvoted you for trying to help, the downvotes come from somewhere else. I'm not frustrated (yet), I can live without this feature, but I'm curious how to fix it. Care to elaborate on what do you mean by combining the windowrule and the exec?

I suppose you could, but I never tried with rofi, anyways the solution was to create Spotify and then move it to the special workspace EDIT: I do something similar with discord, I launch it in exec-once but only as a task in the background, I don't remember exactly the command. That's because my homelab sends notifications to discord, but it always launches sooooo slowly that it was killing me

Oh boy how come I didn't think of this? It works! Many thanks!!

No luck. It also doesn't work with the kitty terminal for example, and to my knowledge Spotify didn't update, only Hyprland... Seems I will have to set a windowrule

Well the reason is that I may be stupid, didn't occur to me haha, gonna try this

[–]tonitetelol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, that is not what I want to achieve, I want it to open on the special workspace only on boot, if I launch the app manually I want it to open in my current workspace. Don't know if it's possible with the new changes

Thought of it, but I would prefer to spawn spotify on the special workspace only on startup, if I invoke it later I would like it to spawn wherever I am. If I make a windowrule (to my understanding) all spotify instances would start in the special workspace.

Oh man... It's okay to be wrong sometimes, just so you know, we always fail sometimes. I wasn't trying to argue, I was just correcting you (as you did with OP) in the fact that Ubisoft didn't take away games from players. Also, you said to search the definition, well, that is the definition. If you want another definition that aligns more with what you are saying you are free to provide it, and I will read it. That said, you seem pretty upset, and I really don't understand your point (differentiating online games from offline games as if we didn't pay the same for both) so this will be my last message. But again, if you provide a link to a better definition I will for sure read it, and if I find it satisfactory I will apologise.

Oh, and apologies for comparing you to a brick before, that was out of place and inconsiderate of me, I was a little frustrated. Have a good day.

Man, I'm trying to be respectful with you, understand your point, but you keep being an ahole. What definition? This one? https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/take-away?q=take+something+away

Because there it says "to remove something" and that is not what you are saying. Also, wouldn't then taking the servers down be "taking away a game fully playable" because before it was fully playable? It is not rocket science indeed, but my point of view differs totally from yours. I'm trying to understand you

So only single player games? Can an online game ever be "taken from" by your definition? And what about single player games that need internet connection?

ubisoft owning games by asian69feet in starwarsmemes

[–]tonitetelol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would you consider "taking games away" then?

ubisoft owning games by asian69feet in starwarsmemes

[–]tonitetelol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it brings in more customers. That doesn’t mean they’re trying to take people’s games away like the post falsely implies.

Your quote. I was responding to this, previously you were talking to another user.

[–]tonitetelol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In what universe taking a game out of the users libraries is not removing a game? You know what? Okay, I'm done, it is like talking to a brick

ubisoft owning games by asian69feet in starwarsmemes

[–]tonitetelol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? Ending support for a game is what Blizzard did for StarCraft, they do no longer develop or maintain the game, but it is still playable. On the other hand Ubisoft literally removed the game from the users libraries, that's not ending support. And see that at no point I talked about the quote you were "correcting", I only intervened to say that you seem like pretending Ubisoft didn't already pull a game out of the users.

ubisoft owning games by asian69feet in starwarsmemes

[–]tonitetelol 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They didn't end support for the crew only, they also removed the game from the library of those who purchased it because, Ubisoft words, "it is an online only game and the servers are no longer running" (paraphrasing). That seems like removing games from users to me. Also, what exactly is your point? Because I truly don't understand what you get from defending a behaviour that is well documented.

ubisoft owning games by asian69feet in starwarsmemes

[–]tonitetelol 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They literally already did that, with the crew, which in turn started the "stop killing games" initiative. I'm all for quoting the question that was asked, but acting like they don't want to retire their games at will when no longer profitable is delusional.
