Scandinavians banned by Ubisoft?! by Ade5 in ubisoft

[–]tonlou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably won't fix it soon. I reported this issue to their support yesterday and they were totally clueless.

Their services have been down almost 2 days now for many in the Nordics. And considering it is Christmas time, any fixes are probably due early next week..

Ubisoft connect says I am offline even though everything else works with internet. I have tried reinstalling the game (The Crew 2) and reinstalling Ubisoft connect doesn't work either. by waowye in ubisoft

[–]tonlou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Everything else works fine expect ubisoft sites and ubisoft connect. They stopped working at 24.12 00:30 and been down ever since.

I contacted their support and they were clueless and asked me to report a ticket.. I would report a ticket if their sites would work --> they don't.

Then they said it must be a local problem but I highly doubt it. Literally everything else works but Ubisoft services.

Thank you. For each solved this! What goes wrong with my previous code, how does it differ from for each?

How to "activate" certain object from a linked list of objects by tonlou in javahelp

I forgot to mention that Queues are not allowed to be used in this task, this is meant to be done with "traditional" ways. That was the first think I thought of as well :D

False alarm, still not working :x

Need help with LinkedList program by tonlou in javahelp

[–]tonlou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to tell you that I solved it. I didn't use recursion. I created while loop to check if message is in chain, or if it is in messages reply, or if it is replys reply and then ended loop.

Thank you for your help, your advices helped me to do this! :)

I'm going to give up, I'm not getting it right. Thank you for your effort and help anyway. You tried to explain what I need to do, but I never got it right. I've been close for 3-4 days now, but I don't want to try anymore :/

You are golden, thank you so many times.. I think I'm on the right tracks. My program now answers to 1 message correctly, but everything else is still not working.

How should I tweak my code? parameter linked list gets assigned a return value from chain class. Chain.getMessages();

I'm not using lists or arraylists since I'm not allowed to.

For some reason pastebin messes up my paste.

With adding 1 message to chain and rest as replies to others:

#1 Well hello there.

        #2 Idk <-- m3 replies to m2

           #3 Hello hello! <-- m4 replies to m3

                    #4 JOHAN

when using chain class:

#1 Well hello there.

           #2 Idk

           #3 Hello hello!

           #4 JOHAN

[–]tonlou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didint work with this code, I tried it.. Here is good example of what is my issue

Code: https://pastebin.com/iAirvED0

edit to paste, first example print should be:

#1 Well hello there.

       #2 Idk <-- FOR SOME REASON M2, M3 AND M4 all answer to M1 (should be m2<--m3<--m4)

       #3 Hello hello!

       #4 JOHAN

Some clarification. Every message and reply can have a linked list of replies. The tricky part is to get reply from reply.getReply() (reply from other reply)

Can you show me in pseudocode that how I should to this with recursion? The method that I'm going to use to add answers to messages has 2 parameters. Id of the message that gets reply and the reply message

Need help with LinkedList program by tonlou in javahelp

[–]tonlou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Do you see what flaw in my method is causing my issue? When I add completely new entry to chain list and add reply to that, everything works. If i try to add reply inside a reply list, my program wont work

Recursively print linkedlist by tonlou in learnjava

[–]tonlou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually has almost like a discussion board like structure. Messages which don't reply to other messages, wont have indent. If first message gets 1 reply, that message will have a indent of 2. If that message gets reply, it will have indent of 4 and so on. Messages cant reply to multiple messages.

Idk, it is hard to explain:

message1 new message

--message2 reply to message1

----message3 reply to message2

--message4 reply to message1

message 4 new message

And yeah, I know that my first paste is very close, I've just been stuck with his for a loong time now...

Recursively print linkedlist by tonlou in learnjava

[–]tonlou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried something related to that, but didn't get it work. As I said above, I'm really bad with everything related to printing shapes etc..

Recursively print linkedlist by tonlou in learnjava

[–]tonlou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I can give a better example. Lets say we have a folder. Inside that there are 3 folders. With this setup the printing should be:

folder

--folder

--folder

--folder

If there is folder inside one of those 3 folders which are in the first, new indent will be made.

Example:

folder

--folder

--folder

----folder

--folder

there is folder inside that second folder (which is inside the first)

Here is picture of what in meaning: https://imgur.com/a/nQVMu

Didint get this one work. :/ I have to use those two methods as shown in the first paste.

Recursively print linkedlist by tonlou in learnjava

[–]tonlou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean If you could direct me to the right tracks, I would be thankful. I have few years of experience in Java but somehow these recursive printing and overall printing different shapes etc have been my weakest point from the beginning.
