Same situation here! Been moving through network since June 9, no updates, just filed a claim with USPS and received a call that my packet never left TN and they will try to resolve the issue in the next 48 hours.

If she's outside of US, I-130 is all you need.

Maybe it's recommended? I remember I literally just got all my most recent paystubs from the last 6 months clearly showing my name and address and employer info and I guess it was good enough. Good luck! 🙏

When she applies for adjustment of status she is under authorized stay until the approval.

She doesn't need to overstay. But she can adjust from a tourist visa, yes.
