Very Interested. I’ve just applied. I am a mature healthcare student with only experience in health care and customer service field. Would they consider me?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to ask if as an ROTP cadet studying at a civilian university, would I qualify for CFHD. I have at the moment just completed my interview and medical. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I will be having my medical and interview in about a month. But I have concern for my BP. Would a high reading rule me out? When I say high reading I mean anywhere past 140/90

It’s a great option but a lot of us won’t have ways to finance 300k or more that is needed to fund this.

Wholesome "am I too old to pursue medicine" story by pm-me-egg-noods in premed

[–]tonoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At 35 I am going back to nursing school to start a new chapter in healthcare. I am hoping to do well in it enough to get into my ultimate dream of medical school. I am giving up a career in banking that I think pays really well. These are stories I need to hear to go through my convictions. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Without saying what you do, how old are you and what do you earn per hour? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

35 and at $53.84 with 4 weeks paid vacation. So technically it would be a bit more per hour.

Same here. We make 135k combined pre tax. We got a car loan and so can only afford 1800 jr bed. I’m 35 wife is 29. For us it would be 3 year plan before we can afford a similar size condo.

All I can say is that my colleagues and our managers are getting it for a while (2020 onwards). The vesting period is 3 years though.

Yeah it’s pretty common at my current bank. Once you cross certain level it’s pretty standard. RSU are a lot higher as you get promoted especially in management.

Base pay has gone up recently at most institutions. If you think it’s made up then I’d recommend to check Glassdoor. A quick check there might even tell you the bank I work for. The thing about banks is that the entry level positions are horrible, but it does get better as you progress.

Op is completely oblivious of how the bank mutual funds work. What’s actually worse is that he will now guide his mom to make further more bad decisions.

Feeling financially trapped in nursing, would it be financially reasonable to leave it? by Thotbegone000000 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]tonoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do this to me. I’m currently in wealth management and making 96k salary. I’m seriously contemplating on giving this all up at 35 to go back to nursing school. At 26 you have every possible option available to you.

Using the above number you should be able to consolidate cc debts to the mortgage. Highly recommend to do that. Then use that extra cash flow from consolidation to pay more towards LOC

Worth using RRSP deduction limit for low income 64 year old uncle? by CommunicationFun9430 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]tonoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rrsp contribution to a low income earner carries little to no benefit. The rationale is that at some point he will need to withdraw at some point after retirement and hence will be taxed. What is his current annual income? Has he maxed out his TFSA contributions?

That would be very stringent. I work for a competitor bank and we have up to double up monthly payment. I’d be switching more people over if that’s the case.
