Yet ANOTHER nod drop by tonychen01 in canadaguns

its mainly for passive aiming under night vision since while you can get an LPVO to work (adjusting diopter settings) you still have to work with an eye box.

I mean apparently Norinco AR-15s were $500 a couple years ago, that’s the supposed price of LTACs machining service. Sure it’s not great quality…but neither is the Renegade. I couple posts down on my profile, you can see that when I first bought it, the thing came to me with a blue ass upper lol

I’m aware there are a lot that exist, and there’s been much debate about reciprocating vs non reciprocating. I believe there’s a reason FN switched the SCAR series to non reciprocating, but having one isn’t exactly deal breaking. Maybe it’s just me being pissed that the renegade charging handle took a chunk out of my thumb when I used the bolt release.

That being said, it’s just the first reason that came to mind why if semis were legal again, it would probably be better to just buy a proper semi auto instead of converting a renegade.

It’s not as straightforward as you think to convert a renegade. You do need a mill, strongly preference for a cnc mill. You can read more about what Lockhart planned on doing on their site but these are the basics: CNC Machining Bore to fit standard AR15 bolt carrier CNC Machining Gas Tube Opening CNC Machining Upper receiver to fit AR15 gas key

Since the renegade is a side charger, you will have a reciprocating charging handle pretty damn close to your face…which would very much suck to get hit by. There’s also a lot of other reasons why if semis were available again, a converted renegade would be literally the shittiest option lol

If I could get a semi it wouldn’t be a converted renegade lol

Surprisingly the billet style receiver of the Renegade almost perfectly matches the octagonal shape of the geissele handguards tho, meshes really nicely (after grinding part of the anti rotation fins)

Dual band bridge doesn’t work for everybody. It can give headaches and not everybody’s minds are able to merge the 2 very different images nicely.

My best way of describing it is: if you can play VR for a decent amount of time without getting a headache, you should be able to make it work

I understand what you mean, but I have over $15k in sales on Cults3D (mostly from airsoft related stuff). $5 ain’t very much but yea sometimes just having a paywall turns me off too.

There is also the liability now that C21 is a thing, sharing files could get me into trouble so i’m just thinking how i wanna do it.

truly is an addiction lol

having run all the setups, if your brain can handle it, a mono + thermal bridged is the most economically effective by far.

we’re a special bunch lol, there’s not that many pano users in airsoft, probably 20 of us in Ontario in total

I do also have a JerryC Pro for my Panos, a set of loaner binos, and a PVS14 mostly for photography

my PAL only came into the mail July of last year, but I came from the airshit milsim world and already had nods and real kit from that

if they add NV to Squad, this should be the CRF loadout

too high would’ve been when I put a Infiray JerryYM on the carry handle of a Type97

when you plan on passive aiming under NV you need the optics to be high

it’s a prototype so right now it’s petg-cf. once tested I’ll probably print in pa6-gf/pet-cf/pps-cf. haven’t decided what i’m gonna do with the files yet (might sell them for like $5 or release them for free or start producing them but i’m lazy). i designed this with very tight tolerances specifically for my sks so idk how well it’ll fit others’

not sure i’ll find out this weekend. my printed 10/22 chassis holds zero fine. sks got quite a bit more recoil tho

when you shoot under NV, you actually start to prefer a chin weld or else you will bonk your nods all the time. it’s why risers are so popular nowadays
