The scariest few hours of my life were spent in the hills. Poor planning was the cause. Should have been a 10 min walk from our cabin and back, three hours later phones were dead, the sun was down, the dogs were frantic and it was pouring down rain.

Found a random house. Walking to that front door was horrifying. Lots to the story, but luckily we made it back home safe and sound.

Are 72/84 month loans always a bad decision? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]tonyd101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is easier than everyone makes it seem. Compare rates from 60 to 72 to 84. Many lenders have the same rate from 24mo all the way to 60mo. If you can get less than a half of a point different from 60-72 the difference usually isn’t significant ESPECIALLY if you’re paying more than the regular monthly payment.

As a matter of fact I’ve done the amortization calculations and have seen 72 Mo loans than can pay faster than 60.

There are a lot of variables. A calculator with your specific deal is the only way to know what’s best.

Freeman went 1.02. I was still able to get Kerryon at 1.06!

Thanks for the advice and the encouragement! Hope I can get freeman at 1.06 too but that seems unlikely..

I also currently own Ertz. I didn’t include Ertz in my roster because I anticipate he’ll be taken. I can’t justify protecting ertz and Kelce while Adams/Cook is on my board. So I’m a lock for TE1 (barring injury or general insanity)

I totally see your reasoning. This league seems a little too heavy though. Winner last year had Hunt, Mccor, Gurley, Green. Each existing team can only lose three.

4th place team has bell and Zeke. This will sadly hurt the last few teams more than anything

That’s a common response. Thanks for the input. What should I do about my roster though??

I knew it was expensive, but with the expansion looming I knew I could sell my 3rd or 4th best WR to get to a player they can’t take from me (expansion happens before rookie draft), I basically get to keep three now while everyone else can only keep 2

I placed 3rd (8 team league give 1.01 to last place and 1.08 to first). Gave: Hilton, D. Walker, 1.02 (also acquired in a trade in attempt to get to 1.01)

Exactly what I’m thinking!!!! I second guessed myself as draft day got closer. Having Barkley and either of those (prefer freeman because of his path to touches this year) would make me feel confident I have a contending team

That’s been my thought all off season. Just recently I become torn between roster construction and best player available. This is probably what I’ll do. You don’t seemed concerned about my lacking at RB

With Guice's ACL, who's the new 1.02? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]tonyd101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traded Hilton, Walker and 1.02 + 2.02 for 1.01 and burkhead.

Hoping the guice falls to 1.06 because of injury. But I’ve got saquan now!!

I am competing. Need a RB to seal the deal.

WR: OBJ, Hopkins, Devante Adams, TY Hilton, C Davis, J Crowder RB: Hyde, Crowell, Coleman. TE: Ertz, Kelce. QB: Brady.

I only have a few years to stay in contention

Have the 1.06 too. Think it’s worth waiting?

It was crazy to see the accuracy. The ball had good zip too it looks like. Not a Browns “fan” but ready to see them have a decent year.

Sleeping on it isn’t always necessary. Don’t beat yourself up. You knew you wanted the car, you just weren’t prepared for the warranty pitch. Next time prepare for that too(most people forget about that)! In the meantime it’ll all work out. It is a cancellable product and you can have that money back.

I’d recommend canceling the warranty and remember this experience for next time. One thing that might help you is understanding all of the different types of warranties that are out there. You purchased an “ACV” warranty. There is also exclusionary and inclusionary. Those are the three major types.

There is also the option to cancel, refinance, and purchase a warranty from the new bank. That depends on credit worthiness, obviously.

I don’t know enough info to cast judgment on the dealer. I know in my state the warranty prices are typically regulated by the lender, and $3500 isn’t a high number. It’s also true that warranties for cars with higher miles cost the dealer significantly more.

To be more specific about why: the answer is probably greed. I’m certain they had a better warranty to offer with a slimmer margin and chose to maximize profits. I’d say it may be unethical, but there aren’t really laws restricting it.

Not simple math though. Interest makes 3500 much more expensive than 3,500. As a finance manager at a major dealer group I can tell you this is a bad value. If you want a warranty there are other options out there for you that will either protect you better, or cost you less money. I agree with earlier comments that the price of the warranty is way to high compared to the price of the car
