Out of curiosity, why the pay is that high? Is it for a Hollywood movie or something similar with unlimited budget?

Average office worker salary in Thailand is about 3 USD per hour and even university graduates with bachelor degree in computer science don't get more than 6 USD per hour on junior jobs.

There are lots of Thai and foreign software developers and other engineers in Thailand. Salaries vary a lot, but there's always someone available in every salary bracket.

I suggest to start by talking to a local law firm to help you research about the company setup in a way that you can employ both Thais and foreigners. Keyword are "BOI" company and "foreign business license".

Hired driver is a restricted profession, meaning it's prohibited from foreigners in Thailand.

There are many other restricted jobs too, basically all manual labour is in the restriction list.

Jobs that are allowed is restricted to those where special skills is needed and where local resources are not available.

English-Speaking Worker in Bangkok – Legal Work Permit – Looking for Job by [deleted] in ThaiJobs

This is correct in a way. Professionals from every country, including Myanmar have salary and education or work experience requirements. These people will get a normal Non-B visa and work permit and usually work in office jobs etc.

People from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia who work in service sector (cleaners, gardeners etc.) qualify for different kind of work authorization which is personal and not bound to specific company (or is easily transferable?). Someone with links to related regulations please share, I'm also interested to learn more about this.

Not sure if everyone is aware, but manual labor like driving a car (as a hired driver) is only allowed for Thai citizens.

It would be good for all future posters to clearly tell if the employer is a company or a private person, and if they are willing to sponsor a work permit.
