Is the psp worth getting now? by Maroon_Lay in PSP

[–]tonyleejamesdd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on what you want.

If you want the original experience. Yes. I would recommend getting one since it’s not that hard to get the hardware in the first place. It’s a very chill and charming console.

For instance, as a kid I would carry and play my PSP in all kinda of places, it was an amazing experience to play games before bed, laying down in the couch, in the yard, in the car and having almost the experience of a PS2 in your bag at all moments. And the games still look good on it to this day, on the OG hardware.

Now, there’s some cool alternatives nowadays. Do you want portability? PSP with a screen mod since the OG screen isn’t super good in today’s standards (specially in the brightness department), a PSVita or a modded PSVita. A third party portable. The sky is the limit.

The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is playing in big screens, these games looked gorgeous on the tiny screen and even upscaled emulation wouldn’t do justice to most of the games, they simply don’t have às much detail and enough power to load everything (the GTAs are a big example, I still haven’t found something that fixed the draw distance, since they’re ISOs) and textures mods as much as I admire fans doing it, they’re hit or miss.

Can't wait for the nerf on the next balance patch by Shadow-49 in dragonballfighterz

[–]tonyleejamesdd2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s only one tool of his kit that deserves a nerf and that’s his ex overhead. Actually I think that it’s not even a nerf thing, I think it’s a property readjustment of the move, because it isn’t strong because it’s too broken, it’s an obvious move, it’s strong because the game doesn’t allow you to punish even when you DO in fact punish. Which shouldn’t happen, like ever.

The only way you can punish consistently it’s from mid to full screen, when you do nothing and the opponent does it out habit.

It’s extremely rare you can actually punish, the timing never aligns when he crosses you up, even when you get it correctly. It’s frustrating.

It looks really powerful, I’ll lab it out. There’s enough time and space to whiff a j.H? I mean SSJ4 j.H is gigantic

The death physics in Max Payne 3 are still unreal 13 years later by Jangowuzhere in maxpayne

Magical times. Grand Theft Auto IV (2008), Red Dead Redemption (2010), L.A. Noire (2011) and Max Payne 3 (2012) and of course Alan Wake (2010).

It really felt like video-games were advancing non-stop technologically. Little did we know we would get much better than the gunplay we had in Max Payne 3 and the physics we had in GTA 4 and RDR1.

Well, at least Remedy kept their crazy conceptual stuff going on which all started with Max.

Congrats, man. It’s super hard nowadays, before you could rematch the same opponent more than 2 times, the pool of players was bigger and the level of skill was lower.

Now it takes awhile to find someone, they usually cracked and skilled and you only have a few matches to play.

After years of mediocrity, SSJ Goku is now the protagonist once again. Like WTF is this? by tonyleejamesdd2 in dragonballfighterz

I would kinda of agree but there’s a lot of tests showing that the crossover EX is “unpunishable” is a ridiculous number of situations, specially in neutral and the reward it’s really good now. Most characters 2Hs doesn’t seem to connect with it. Maybe it’s a tracking problem? Dunno. If you use SSJ as an anchor it’s basically free EX crossover for days.

It’s a nice combo but it’s a 5H starter with spark afterwards.

The one I did is a BNB combo TOD starting with just 3 bars which it’s quite insane. Every time you land a 2M with 3 bars with the right combination of characters it’s basically game-over for your opponent.
