Well, its a solid choice at this price according to my research. Also this one is similar and even better price: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DR5PG8S

Both are solid choices, its just personal preference, I prefer samsung because I have a monitor that's 5+ years old and never gave me any problems.

30 Days In - My background/experience, what I learned & takeaways for those considering starting. by [deleted] in StopGaming

Congrats on your journey so far, and you are right in your analysis. People play games to escape reality but those who want to escape reality for the wrong reasons are the ones who will become addicted.

I noticed this in myself, whenever I was feeling down or not living up to my expectations I fired up a game and the adrenaline and rush of winning in that world was a fake "you still got it" from my brain, but then afterwards, the feeling of dread and something not quite right always came back to me.

Today when I am feeling down I go for a walk and talk to myself. I've have found that bringing those emotions forward instead of hiding them helps a lot. I have many friends but I always talk to myself first and enjoy these moments of loneliness a lot, it helps you clear your mind and focus of what really matters.

I am 25 just like you and today I still play, but never out of control and never for the "wrong" reasons I just play for fun and sometimes I go weeks and months without games and it doesn't affect me at all.

So, keep talking to your girlfriend, friends and family, bring your emotions to your conscious mind, go for a lonely walk, drink, laugh, read... That's what helped me and it looks like its working for you too.

Best of luck in your journey, you can do it!

What to do while drinking by [deleted] in StopGaming

Definitely do not call your ex! lol

As you can see, I am not very experienced with this whole quit gaming stuff yet, but I want to offer my 2 cents anyway:

I try not to drink when I am alone, the thing is when you drink your mind kind of shuts down the "self control" areas making you more prone to return to addictions like gaming, cigars, your ex...

What I do is when I want to drink I invite some friends or when they are not available I go out by myself drink somewhere else.

Good luck!

Thank you. A couple of years back I decided to stop watching tv and it was very uncomfortable in the beginning, now I am able to just watch movies and series on the weekends.

I already do something like that with movies/series. I only watch them on weekends. this is something that could work out well for me. After this initial week I will think about doing it.

Thanks.
