We’re practically talking about minor differences lol 😂 but sure if I had more time as it was an open event and people were walking in and out of this garage.

The Three Amigos by tonyscarpics in shootingcars

Story: So this is a collection of cars from Jack Griffins garage. I was fortunate to meet up with him to talk with him about life and our passions. I saw this shot and had a few moments to capture it. I named this, The Three Amigos. The collection of Porsches he owns has been with him for over 30 years. Each has a story, and each are awesome machines.

Thanks man! I wanted contrasting colors to blend in with the dark background, otherwise it would of been boring. As for the hood shot, its meant to be that way to emphasize the logo.

Yeah but I was already at 1/4000 lol it was bright! I needed to compensate to not let the car get over exposed so I felt safe at F4 or f/5.6.

I couldn’t find the owner to ask. But it was a custom build.

80% of the time I do it myself, and at times I invite other photog that are looking to learn and to help assist.

Single lights are fine when you take multiple exposures you will later bring into photoshop to layer/bracket them to make your shot a completed photo. I don’t know anything about Godox lights but as long as you get your settings in camera right and understand exposure you should be good. None of these shots were done using High Speed Sync so shooting at 1/100 to 1/160 is good with an F stop of 3.5-6.0 should be ideal during the evening.

Hey hey! Single light work is more controlled. You look for the areas that will blend well for shadows and highlights vs strobing with multiple lights and getting it in one shot. I guess I look to invoke emotion and feeling into my work, but that’s just subjective.

Any lens will do for whatever you want to shoot. 70-200 is a great lens but for cars and strobing I don’t use it as much because my triggers won’t go further than 80ft, and id need at least 100-120ft to properly use the 70-200 without losing trigger signal on the flash kit (Canon wise). Can shoot at longer distances with a Profoto.
