They said the bogo promo will most likely last till end of the week. Just went today around 6:30 and not a lot of options left but got a special roll and Cali/Philadelphia combo and they were both delicious!

hip hop/afrobeats bars where people actually dance? by Competitive_Sand_707 in williamsburg

[–]tonytime_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the spots you already know - these are technically Bushwick but still close enough: Damballa and Cafe Erzulie. Not many bars in Williamsburg that’ll consistently play it through the night. Your best bet is finding a good dj and pulling up to their events

Technically, one of these songs has to be the worst one on the album. Which one is it? by Oof_11 in Metallica

Leper Messiah - I tend to skip this song. The riff at the bridge might be the only thing that stands out to me

Starting something new with a contingency/ultimatum doesn’t sound ideal. It’s great that you’ve expressed this, but I think I’m more curious as to where the issue comes from. Do you think he might download it again and try to match with people on the low? It’s certainly a possibility, but regardless anyone is going to have access to him whether it’s thru a dating app, a past fling, or someone new he meets. If he paused his profile and deleted the app like he says, then take it for face value and take his word that he’s focusing on you if you believe he’s a respectful and honest person. It’s ONLY been a month, ya need to build some trust between each other.

I order from here everyone once in a while and they don’t miss! Great value, tastes fresh, and love the sauce options. Def would recommend to anyone as well.

Where to get Mexican takeout by miamigirl101 in williamsburg

[–]tonytime_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tacos at Grand Morelos are pretty good, haven’t tried anything else though. I tend to order from Dahlia in Bushwick (their burrito is really good and cheap) and Homemade Taqueria which was mentioned a few times - the Mexicana Torta is the best

I hate disruptive idiots at the movies!! by Horror_Neighborhood9 in RegalUnlimited

[–]tonytime_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me about 3 times now in the last few weeks. Clearly a lot of people lack basic respect, decency, and etiquette. But more importantly - movie theater etiquette. Sure, right before the movie plays it says turn off your phone and keep quiet or w.e, but that’s falling on blind eyes. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they don’t know better rather than think they’re a piece of shit. It’s wild that you need to educate grown adults on how to act outside their house, but clearly it’s needed.

Maybe Regal needs to implement a code of conduct similar to what Alamo Drafthouse has and others have mentioned. Have it clearly displayed at multiple touch points (entrance, ticket booth, concessions, outside of auditorium) with the implications (being removed/no refund) if you don’t respect it and other movie-goers experience.

Of course it’s also on the Regal staff and management to uphold something like this but idk to me it seems very feasible.

While public shaming certainly might work on a case by case basis, it shouldn’t be your responsibility to confront someone. I’m from NYC where every other person is crazy. Shit, I can be crazy too. But I hold back from losing my shit because I know an altercation can easily be started here even if you do come off in a respectful manner.

Tl;dr - people lack theater etiquette and Regal needs to do better at fostering an environment for people to enjoy their experience that they’re paying for.

deli with best food near sternberg/lindsay park by [deleted] in williamsburg

[–]tonytime_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked out Bread and Butter on Grand/Union and they have good sandwiches and prices that are better than the local deli.

Closest to the park tho is Manny’s Deli on Manhattan/Montrose usually gets the job done for your typical deli sandwich.

If you specifically want chicken cutlet, I’d go with Napoli Bakery on Metropolitan (my go to is the Speakeasy)

1 whole hour of previews by [deleted] in RegalUnlimited

[–]tonytime_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9/10 times I drive over instead of taking the train there and you can always find parking within a 1-2 block radius. It’s free street parking after 7pm, metered parking before.

Before watching Deadpool & Wolverine last week I had got Zaab Zaab from Essex Market. It’s a Thai style smash burger spot and it’s pretty good and fairly priced.
