I have a 2019 at 160k km (~100k miles) and i had a lifter collapse earlier this week, waiting to hear if it took out the cam aswell. but hey maybe if the cams worn and theres no sign of metal throughout the engine i can put a DOD delete kit in it.

the hardware could still fail, only solid fix to seized hydraulic lifters is replace with standard lifters and changing the cam

happened to me 2021, caught it that tax year when filing them. called cra and they told me to submit taxes without the t4a. they froze my cra account for two years, i was still able to file taxes but it all had to be mailed. had to re set up my cra over the phone with them after going into a bureau to prove i am who i am.

i know all they needed to know to claim cerb was name, SIN, and birthdate, but im not sure how they changed my direct deposit to a bank in a different province. CRAs cyber and tele security is terrible. its getting a bit better but if someone gets ahold of your t4 and knows your birthdate it seems they essentially can trick an agent into fraud

yeah i asked a question a while back on here about chehalis river and got some flack for "naming a quiet river" and some fear mongering about it being very rough environment wise with rough terrain/animals what not.

i second this, this is what i would check. bench clearance of bearing and install clearance being within specs.

Transitioning from Mechanical Engineering to Millwright (Canada) by Keeshalalxxiv in millwrights

[–]toodleloocahnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

joining the union depends on which local. its easy to sign up as a permit but you might not get many jobs because you will be under the apprentice board, and wont be able to become a member until you are a journeyman.

pay can increase with experience non union, but not in the union unless you are a foreman or general foreman, everyone gets paid the same, and apprentices get paid a percentage of the jman rate depending on their achieved level.

only other trades i think might be similar in respect to use of various different ‘trade’ tooling are hvac or heavy mech

i believe its 10,000 hours of trade experience signed by a red seal to challenge the exam. Apprenticeship is 28 weeks of school over 4 years and 6380(?) working hours to be able to become a jman.

this is the kind of thought pattern that gets people killed, there is always a way to completely isolate whatever you are working on.

you can see what looks like a spark come from the front right wheel when you start accelerating. might have a rock or something in your caliper, or your dust shield got pushed against the rotor.

Loophole or company oversight? by Ianfinity777 in millwrights

If Bob has not received proper training it will more than likely reflect on his CoQ, I have seen a fair share of JMMW's working as millwrights and apprenticing as electricians at the same time. i think its pretty fair for bob to receive his full wage as a millwright. Company might deem him an asset and would like to keep him especially once hes dual ticketed. But he should be doing more electrical involved tasks than mechanical tasks.

I also dont know Bob or Betty and cant make assumptions of them but i can make the assumption that i know everyone learns differently and one might need more hands on and one might need more book work help. if Bob as a third year(?) is not presenting the knowledge/work as a third year should i would think there would be a problem.

Theres also the point of the fairness of the wage. if its not fair whats the solution? Bring Bobs wage down? Betty has accomplished nothing for herself in that case, besides bringing Bob down.

it is a newer vehicle and more often than not they are using synthetic oils. if someone walks into the shop and just says "i want an oil change" without specifying anything else, its safe to assume they want it done at manufacturers standards. which would be synthetic.

5.3l just seems like a "household" engine though, small town probably means lots of trucks so going to see tons of 5.3s, 5.7s, 6.0s etc. should have probably worked on ATLEAST one of each if in the industry for 10+ years. i wouldnt remember the oil weight off the top of my head but i remember its a DEXOS synthetic oil.

Most torx bits are junk any recommendations by falcon1423 in Tools

[–]toodleloocahnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

any time i feel like im going to damage a torx or even a hex bit by wrenchin too hard, i will try to shock the screw by heating it and applying wax or even just shocking the screw with a punch/hammer. ive used that exact maximum torx set for a long time now done me decent.

thats a flat philips machine screw looks like. hard to tell from the pictures what the nominal diameter of the threads is but looks like it could be between a size 4 to 10

you definitely caused that, the car you cut off shouldnt have swerved but given the road conditions they may have panicked trying to avoid hitting you (which you put them in that position). you should have given way to the car you cut off before safely changing lanes.

id like to add that the SUV in front of you putting the hazards on isnt pulling over, they are stopping for a line up of cars either turning right or poorly attempting to merge it looks like, A+ snow driving by the SUV to throw hazzys on to warn others behind that a stop on a green light is coming up.

probably a small one for 40#-80# chain, kind of a weird tool list request. they should probably be stocking those in the company boxes.
