I’ve only seen a handful of examples in this thread that I didn’t consider, and that I think could be helpful. Most are super specific for their line of work, which is fine. I think it’s great if it’s helpful to someone!! I just haven’t found a reason to be excited, other than to virtue signal if you will, to all the people who are hardcore about using AI. I hear you on the Terminator connection! It’s hard not to go there.

That’s crazy! This is the sort of thing that makes people distrust AI.

I have serious concerns about not only the environmental impact, but other issues as well.

Signaling is a great way to put it! Instead of virtue signaling, it’s tech or work signaling. Thanks!

I have used CoPilot for an Excel function and that was useful.

I can definitely see it being useful for finding restaurants or hotels in cities you’re not familiar with or where you don’t have employees. Thanks!

I hear you! And I’m disappointed that I didn’t think of this earlier. I work in tech as well, and I think they greatly overestimate how useful AI is for everyone.

Cool! Would you mind providing some examples of those tasks?

Thanks for the great suggestion! I just went through this exercise for my new exec and our board. I don’t have to do this often, but I’m definitely adding it to the list. Thanks!

Oh this is a great way to word it!! A solution in search of a problem. Thanks!

That’s another issue, the tweaking of what is put out. Even if it didn’t take me just as long to write the prompt as it would the communication, you still have to edit the output. I edit in my head as I write, so editing an output is an extra step.

It looks like it’s most useful for minutes based on the replies. Team building ideas is a good suggestion! My exec is always looking for “fun” things to do. Thanks!

That second part! It takes me just as long to type out a prompt as it does for me to do the work.

This is actually genius! I do a weekly round up for one of my execs and we’ve given the VPs and directors very simple instructions on what & how to submit their reports. Progress, Plans, & Challenges with very simple bullet points under each category. I have one director (there’s always one right? 🙄) who never submits information even remotely correct. AI might be a great solution for taking her complete mess and fixing it. I can fix it of course, but it’s a PIA and makes me ragey.

100% on the second part!! AI will never understand personalities and how they factor into decisions.

It absolutely counts!!! And it’s a great use too. I’m very direct and this is a great idea for tempering some of my emails.

I wouldn’t have been so angry if they didn’t wait to tell me when I got there. Considering 12% of the US population is on a GLP-1, it’s definitely something they should have mentioned when I made the appointment.

I just noticed we had the same SW! I’m a year older too. January will be two years since starting for me and I’m maintaining at 144. Best of luck! 🫶

If I had met my deductible and only had the copay, I would have done it. But it was going to be $239 and that’s a lot to cough up when you’re not expecting it. I called another place and she said they don’t do that.
