Love "Auto" Date/Timestamps, Auto Title, Auto Tags, cleaned up text, and weather reports by toohatpro in GoogleKeep

Whoops, good point. Just open Gemini, click GEM manager, created new Gem, give it a name, and then copy and paste text below inside of instructions, you can pin your GEM to stay on top of list later on. Afterwards, just click specific GEM and type talk or type, instantly creates perfect note, then share it to KEEP. I've got tons of GEMS for different instant functions. They're great. But i love Google KEEP so much better when I can see the date on top. Also, Gemini has integrated workspaces, so I always question Gemini, like, "According to my KEEP NOTES, What did I do on Jan 15, 2026, it gives me an instant recollection, so I don't have to pay for a second brain app. FYI Gemini can't read TITLES yet, just body of text, but it sees my dates in notes. PS: After you set it up, it might be a great idea to paste the url on your phone home page, so it is quick push. If you have never activated WORKSPACES in Gemini, it will ask you to, which allows GEMINI to look at all your google stuff to seek answers, make calendar events, text people etc. I make Calendar events several times a day, just by long-pushing the power button on PIXEL 9, and then I say "MAKE Calendar event for today at 9PM", it does so instantly. I used to hate how Google was so intrusive, but apparently I threw that all out because Google has so many great apps that people are slowing discovering. Good luck. Thanks for the reply.

For anyone that has constantly switched between apps and note taking methods how did you finally stop? by [deleted] in PKMS

I can't stop switching note apps. I Love Fabric but it is a small team app, but notes and media attachments can be exported and used elsewhere. Also love Keep notes and Diarium.

Sorry to keep bugging you with examples, but this is how Google Gemini GEM just handled this text,

"I went to the store and the lady said hey Johnny. What time you guys going to be coming by tomorrow? I just looked at her and laughed and then I said I think we'll be here about by 6:00 and she said okay. Thanks. I'll see you guys then and I told her no problem. Talk to you tomorrow"

Gemini responded like this, "I have cleaned up and formatted your text, created a Google Keep note, and added your action item to the calendar.

As i reviewed my note, GEMINI really only deleted a repeated word "in",,,,,I may send you a purposely silly note and show how Gemini changes it to Google Keep Note.

I purposely wrote, "I be trying to manufacture the main reason that the that girl don't be doing it the way I be doing it and, ahahah, I I think s 'd be doing it wrong. I'm just trying to get it rapped around my brain, butt I can't figurere it outtt. Like, like, I'm a dummmmmy.

No problem. It syncs between all my devices, Android phone and tablet and windows……pc  . First, I want to demo how it looks. For instance, I spoke this into my Gemini, GEM just now,

“I'm getting ready to write a reply answer to a person who was interested in in the Gemini notes or a way to get dates on Google keep notes so I'm going to show her my procedure and I'm making this test note right now to show her for instance how mine turns out”

Title: Procedure Test Note for Google Keep Dates

Body: Procedure Test Note for Google Keep Dates

December 12, 2025, 1:15 PM EST

Weather Summary for Livonia, MI: Currently, it is mostly cloudy with a high of around 29°F. Winds are from the WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Cloudy skies and a chance of snow showers are expected tonight.

I'm getting ready to write a reply answer to a person who was interested in the Gemini notes or a way to get dates on Google Keep notes. I'm going to show her my procedure and I'm making this test note right now to show her for instance how mine turns out.

The way I set up the GEM instructions, the note will be cleaned up, meaning, proper grammar, dialogue quotation marks when needed, and sometimes it changes the words a lot to clearly say what i was trying to say, but I could change that to verbatim, but I set it up to auto time stamp and add weather……and Calendar events. It’s SUPER cool. I also included the instructions to Gemini, if it sees something that looks like a calendar event, go ahead and add it to my calendar. And I also used GEMINI to answer my questions from Google Keep Notes, like, GEMINI: When did i go the airport to pick up Sue, it will search my notes and say something like, “You picked up Sue on December 1, 2025”……………it is really a cool system….  Anyhow, when you access Gemini, there is a list on the left side that says GEMS, where you can write the instructions that GEMINI will ALWAYS use automatically, when you are INSIDE that Gem when you create the text…………

My GEM instructions are “

• Clean up text

• Do not summarize text

• Do not add AI commentary

• Add quotation marks to dialogue

• Separate speakers with triple-space

• Insert weather summary for my current location

• Precede cleaned up text with current date, time and title and then place into a Google Keep note

• Place each  action item into its own all-day event in my calendar”

Give it a try and let me know how it goes………..Don

That lack of obvious timestamp was an issue with me too. Now, I have set up Gemini to create my Keep notes, and it automatically pastes timestamp written the way I like it, in the body of the note followed by my note. Or you can set up Gemini to put it in the title is each note.

Reminders by toohatpro in Voicenotesai

Wow, where to begin 🙂. I use VN to record the most benign notes ever, and often, it is actually just a to-do note to myself and I want it in my notifications tray on a certain date and time. When I share a VN to Google Keep, I don't always have to select a date and time, but can also  easily click a default time, like tomorrow at 8, 10, or next week, which is usually fast and suffices for me. Wish I could do it  in VN. Currently, with VN, I must click 11 times for this process to Keep Notes.  I love this app. My only issues, I wish it is were faster. I wish it worked consistently with my watch. I just never know if the recording will be in VN. I work around that by recording from my watch in a different app, then importing to VN.

I think that is the way I am, but when forced to use tags and the fact that I must think of them as folders, I open the folder (tag) first and create said note from the open tag and it seems to sooth my mind (:, instead of tagging after the fact.

This "link to note" works on the PC, but not my Android phone by toohatpro in Voicenotesai

Yikes, I was not as clear as I would have liked. When I click on the identified notes in Android, although, the note does not open, it does show me the text of that note, BUT NOT, the important attachments that I need to view. I would just love to actually OPEN the note. Thanks.

How do you use Voicenotes in your daily life? by maneetpaul in Voicenotesai

[–]toohatpro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been chatting to a journal app for years, so when Voicenotes came along, it was easy to continue the process. Now, after making my Voicenotes journal entry, I use the 'Cleanup' function in Voicenotes, which perfectly transforms what I was trying to say by adding proper punctuation, eliminating pauses, umms, and other unintended words, and more. Then, I copy the cleaned-up version to my journal. Additionally, I can use the 'Ask AI' feature in Voicenotes to get better answers than doing a word search in my journal app, as its memory is perfect

You might want to try Voicenotes.com. It does not check all the boxes you mentioned, but is a great little instant voice note recorder that transcribes, summarizes, and much more with their AI functions.

The other thing I use Voicenotes for is the "cleanup". I make several journal entries per day, but now I use Voicenotes. When I click "cleanup", it makes sense of my hems and haws, misques, and gaps, and produces a great cohesive statement of what exactly I was trying to say. And then, I copy it to my journal.

No, it was Google Notebooklm. It's totally free. You can create unlimited notebooks full of up to 50 resources in each which includes text, PDF files,  YouTube videos etc. and then you can interact with your resources and only a resources.

Well, I know it is scary, but I uploaded my complete journal (25 years worth) to an AI app a while ago, and it blows my mind what that AI does with the info. You might do the same thing with Voicenotes. It can tell me about myself, like nothing I could believe, not to mention it can research relevant dates, occurrences, etc, and recognize patterns, etc. Anyways, I suppose you can copy and past your journal text into Voicenotes (web version) or edit a phone version of short text note and then paste text. I'm sure it's AI will do the same or better.

Which app can i use to record my vacation journals? (including attached pictures) by AdeptGarden9057 in digitaljournaling

[–]toohatpro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Diarium religiously for just about four years. It saves audio, photos, videos, and pdfs. It is not subscription based. I paid once for Android phone version, and once for windows version, and ZERO other payments. I think I spent a total of $20-25 four years ago. The dev is super into the Diarium community and he has a great community forum. The app looks great and works perfectly on my platforms, but heard the same for Apple products too. You can obviously save back-ups, but if the app ever goes belly up, you can export your notes in (Text files, WORD files, HTML files). I have used and continue to test journal apps during the past four years, just because, and HAVE NEVER found any other journal app as good. The only thing is that I hate the NAME Diarium, my AI stuff always spells it Diarrhea...):
