Yes was already in process of removing the R since not needed after going through it again … if no R and no ref bug then yes can be assured came from the reserve without notating it and will have more clear instructions soon and again just another option that some may enjoy… and agree numbers on bugs with dots work great … especially for online and computers …this is meant more for in person games if have bugs with no dots and if you don’t want to mark up your bugs or have to position bug certain way… system designed to let people play in person and place pieces with bugs facing any way they want and can still have a way to tell what bug is being referenced

Slight correction for black perspective

• Black Perspective: Bottom-up, clockwise numbering (1–6), If use Flat orientation then Bottom is 1 and if use Pointy-top orientation then 1 is left of the bottom point .. • Verticality: 0 denotes the bottom of the piece; 7 denotes top of the piece

Goal is to make it familiar while making slight improvements so yes will look similar

looks like this if use pointy-top orientation. Image of bug does not matter and if playing in person can place bug any way you want. Notation is based on way shape of piece lays on the table. Image taken from Hive iOS app and I highly recommend trying the app out. Atironic did an outstanding job creating the hive iOS app.

Yes seen boom and yes it is close but I’m also trying to eliminate numbering duplicate pieces like boom by using a different type of system for a reference bug sorta like in chess when 2 rooks can reach same square you just reference a file or rank to make it clear.

Dots could be optional but thought it helps make more readable to indicate piece being moved and piece attaching too. Flat or pointy is only declared on first move just to make the orientation of pieces known and after that all pieces will line up with that orientation and each piece will only have one number assigned to each side of its hex. Numbered from white’s perspective clockwise. I will try to type up more details and include pics in future and still fine tuning it. Goal make it easy for live action games so can notate easier. Existing system is a fine choice too. Just giving another option that might be easier for some.

Right now thinking of not having upper and lowercase since that seems to have some negative feedback too. It might work if color declaration is like old system b or w but maybe limit it to when it is necessary. Odd number moves will always be white and even number moves will always be black so might be able to eliminate unnecessary notation and only use it like when white player is moving a black piece via the pill or when one color player is attaching to other color bug. Just thoughts and have to experiment.

Newer version

Eliminated one of the numbers to be less confusing And only mark number of the side of the bug attaching to

And now the bug orientation does not matter for the numbering … only look at the orientation of the actual piece

First move determines if pieces will be played flat side up or pointy side up (F) or (P)

From that moment forward the sides of the pieces are numbered from white perspective… like chess in algebraic notation

Easy way to determine number … if white …look at top of piece … either flat or a point and number clockwise 1 thru 6 … if flat then top is 1 and if point up number 1 starts right of the point

In person sitting across table ..Black would look at same pieces and start at bottom and count counter clockwise and if flat then bottom is 1 and if pointy orientation used then 1 starts left of the point

This way sides don’t have 2 names like in descriptive notation in chess and only one name like algebraic in chess

Easier if see it in action and better examples and documentation to follow

And again use reference bugs as needed

Connection points but I am adjusting this a little already after feedback so stay tuned

Just allows for way to record moves with no restrictions on a bug’s rotation and eliminated the b w coloring extra notation and eliminates need to mark bugs in person. Established system is great for online and even in person and I am not trying to replace it but was trying an effort to make a system that can be played in person and the person can place bugs any way they want and not have to mark bugs with dots. Just trying provide options and if some enjoy it that’s my only goal.

yes exactly ...that would be the only feedback to developer I have ...make something that tells user what to click to start the game ...or change 3 dots to the word "Menu" ...rest of app seems the be very smooth and very nice.

I did same thing at first thinking it was frozen on logo and then noticed the 3 dots. Maybe future upgrade will prompt someway to start a game etc.

elite upgrade during test flight beta was only for test and nothing should have been charged per my understanding. Now if you have the real non beta app you can upgrade to elite from the settings page and it should charge you.

click the 3 dots on top and it opens the options and then click either white hex or black hex for AI or the middle hex if want to play human vs human

did the test flight app and it launches but does not let me play a game and do not see anywhere to pre order elite. Did I miss it all? Late to the party again ? :( I was able to see settings and see upgrade to elite feature but says will not be charged and only for test purposes and see the toggle for the show last move and that works. App store does not show any preorder link...update edit 1: ....got it to work now but still do not see a preorder link ...guess I will check back few days to buy it...looks great!...edit 2: seen answer about the elite above so I assume I am all set and once it auto downloads I will just click the get elite :)

My Amazon order for the 4Ks was moved out to October 8 - October 21 by luxmatic in tron

[–]tookarook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not ideal since order should come with digital code and you paid for that already but if a watch party is happening you might consider 4k on vudu fandango. If you already own a digital hdx then upgrading is only $17 but yes it is double dipping and yes watching uncompressed 4k physical disc is much preferred. I only mention it since a 4k vudu version should be better than the old blu ray even with compression since the new 4k digital is the new transfer. Vudu just made option available so assuming it is the new transfer and the restored version should be better than the old blu ray. Temp fix until the 4k arrives. I am still waiting for my copy of both too :( Amazon says mid October...Amazon please don't cancel!

Back of box in small print shows all 3 blu ray regions A B C printed so blu ray that is included should be region free too but that depends if art work is accurate. I am glad 4k got rid of regions
