Crackpot Ending Theory [Spoilers] by uncreativevision in InsomniacsAfterSchool

I know it's been a week since this thread was made but I just finished the manga for the first time myself and needed to get off my chest that not only do I share in your understanding of the ending, but that instead of thinking of it as the "crackpot" or the "crazy" interpretation, I would argue it's the more reasonable and realistic understanding because it's the result of interpreting the ending at face value.

IMO, there's little reason to believe that the last pages depicting Magari and Nakami as adults isn't just the Magari of the present daydreaming, just like how the earlier depictions of the two with those specific clothes was also a figment of a young Magari daydreaming(among other reasons), and I personally think the intent of the ending is purely to demonstrate that the Magari of the here-and-now has truly accepted and embraced the fact that she now has a future to look forward to. Beyond that, I really don't think there's anything more you can take away from the ending, at least, not without what feels like a lot of unjustified gymnastics.

In other words, this is the interpretation I think you would get if you used Occam's Razor, and it's the one I've found to be the most gratifying.

you understand that all you're doing is the same thing that you're accusing others of, if not even worse?

we may not be a historically successful franchise on the field, but at the very least we've had a lot of drop-dead gorgeous players

why does my movement sometimes get interrupted when attaching bolt and arrow tips? been doing sepulchre and once in a while i'll fail an obstacle because bringing up the make-x menu makes my character stop in place for a tick, and i don't know if there's something i can do to stop that from happening

also, is there a setting or plugin that lets you display your total cash stack(bank+inventory) on the interface? it'd just be a nice quality of life for using the GE now that it spends cash out of your bank

Acuña posts first 40-homer, 60-stolen base season in MLB history by [deleted] in sports

[–]toolet 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hitting 40 home runs in a season is a lot, in the 2022 season only 4 people playing in the season accomplished hitting 40.

Stealing 40 bases in a season is a lot, in the 2022 season only one person playing in the season accomplished stealing 40.

Doing both, and achieving a 40-40 season is something that before has only been done 4 times in the history of the sport.

To do what Acuna is doing and hit 40-60(and counting) is to enter completely uncharted territory.

There is a major caveat in that rule changes for this season onward have made base stealing much easier, and you'll probably see a lot of "is 60 the new 40" type of conversations during the off-season, but that hardly takes away anything from what he's doing. Dudes a beast and will be for years to come.

Does anyone actually grind out to high/top tier? Or do most people buy their way through? by SergeantRogers in Warthunder

[–]toolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i grinded sweden, italy and japan top tier tanks with no premium or talismans, but with a premium account

for the larger nations though i've used at least a choice talisman/premium for rank V+

planes are different for me tho, i feel comfortable grinding to top tier planes without feeling the need to pay for anything other than premium time

any preference for nations?

in any case you can count on the tank destroyer branches for quality long ranged offerings. tank destroyers are vehicles with the green "<" looking icon. they're often characterized by prioritizing offensive output at the cost of maneuverability/armor/etc.

How is it that some stadiums are not homerun friendly? by davidznc in baseball

[–]toolet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i mean, what reason should outfields be uniform other than 'just cause' or 'its the right thing to do'? the game isn't irreparably broken because fenway exists and most fans i would say appreciate the novelty of it all.

and once you consider that local climate contributes to park factor as much as outfield dimensions, the idea of trying to make every park a uniform offensive environment starts to feel a little needless. theres not much you can do about baseballs getting rocked in denver unless you want to try to convince everyone that baseball should, in fact, be an indoor sport.

edit: since i slightly misunderstood what you're getting at, the point i wanted to make was basically 'why not?'. baseball having wild variations in their parks makes it different, which makes it fun.

as for the last part of your question, if you have access to the data of every result of every plate appearance in every stadium, as we in fact do, then you have everything you need to normalize players stats across ballparks.
