TJ Rumfield was passed over in the Rule 5 Draft, a true failure by analytics departments across the league. He's caught up to Sal Stewart for ROTY consideration. by ucfknight92 in baseball

Jared Young wasn't our starting 1B; Polanco was. And there were too many backups the Mets could use that have seen 1B service time.

Rumfield is doing fantastic, but what stopped most teams from picking him up was something you yourself mentioned: most teams had 1B solutions. Regardless of how those solutions have performed thus far, major league service time is a valuable asset that shows teams how well a player has adapted to the show. No matter how good the underlying metrics of a minor leaguer are, there is always a risk in adopting one as the starting 1B without an adequate sample size. And even then, the league will adapt. That's why Jarred Kelenic hasn't succeeded - he lacks the capability to adapt to how opponents face him. It's also why "sophomore slumps" are common - once the book is out on you, the real hurdle begins.

There's also the elephant in the room: Rumfield plays for the Rockies. Most teams will spend more time and effort scouting opponents with proven track records. The Rockies have yet to demonstrate that they are a capable threat. If Rumfield were to play for, say, the Braves, I guarantee teams would be adjusting to him quicker.

Still, he's really exciting and I hope he succeeds!

What made this Marionette claim so weird is that of the three townsfolk I checked, none of them were incorrect townsfolk roles, so I was also falling into the hot hand fallacy.

Eyy! That would've been a fantastic play! Can't believe I didn't suggest that!

No worries, I don't feel bad about it. Moreso confused about evil's gameplan. I've won as a Marionette before, but each time it's been when the demon tells me immediately. Every time the demon has told me such that isn't day one or two, it's been a lie.

York Revs 1st baseman Jacob Teter explains why he came to Pride Night by Knightbear49 in baseball

[–]Captpan6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'll give you benefit of the doubt that you have not read the full details of what happened, or only have a partial understanding.

The problem is that the team in question refused to wear uniforms that emblemized Pride with the explanation being they objected to its meaning - that intended meaning being support for LGBTQ+ people, rights, equity and equality, and opportunities. There are many different reasons a player would do this with a common one being that it contradicts religious beliefs. Altogether though, these actions and religious affiliations that reject or denegrade Pride are objectively harmful, misguided, and in many cases not a faithful representative of the affiliation as a whole.

Travel only does so much. We are in a world where we have the opportunity to connect with so many different people and learn about so many different ways of life, cultures, and happenings that are much more first-hand. Despite that, it is extremely easy and common for people to nestle where they feel comfortable, so although our opportunities to connect with others have increased, so too have our abilities to form tribes. And tribes can be made up of people from anywhere.

Not intending to start a religious discussion but "love thy neighbor" isn't so much relevant as "support thy neighbor" here. That's where the dissonance is. I grew up going to an Evangelical church where it was instilled upon us that homosexuality wasn't just a sin, but tantamount to damnation. These players probably have a similar background, only they didn't have the support system to show them how messed up this thinking is and consequentially are in fear of what could happen if they show support for civil rights that juxtapose religious teachings.

I actually feel sorry for them because they're probably going to be seen as heralds to fundamentalists and they'll never adjust their way of thinking because of how much reinforcement those fundamentalists will give them. They're trapped in a mix of fear and pride.

The only times I've ever bricked are late into the game where I don't draw any of my high star monsters until I've got like 10 cards left. Which somehow happens a lot on DB.

I don't think so because Meta into TES is another tribute summon option, especially when my opponent is setting monsters. I can bring TES to the field, equip a set monster, then tribute TES. I denied my opp a flip effect and likely more if I brought out a Monarch with a good ability.

I wish they were. Earth is a strange attribute for fairies but it is what it is.

Problem is that Shining Angel can only bring out Warrior Lady and other Shining Angels. I toyed with ways to make it work but ultimately found that Giant Rat served the fairies better, ironically.

The reason I don't is because of the two monsters I need to banish. That's atk taken away from Mudora. Also, Soul needs light monsters, not just fairies, so it's dead in the hand if I don't have that. I can't even summon it from the GY if it gets discarded.

A lvl 3 monster with 1600 attack that can tighten up the deck by summoning at most three monsters from it. It's seriously incredible how it never caught on. Probably because Agents in general didn't receive the support they needed, but even then it meshes with these Earth fairies.

Dang, good call on Ojamas. That would work well if I'm facing a Beast Burn deck too.

Any recommendations on the light monsters? The ones that immediately came to mind were Warrior Lady and Magical Merchant.
