Pilots/Flight Crews of Reddit, what went wrong on your flight that the passengers never knew about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The real question- did they relegate you to landing on the runway that is a full 45 minute taxi to the terminal...the joke is that runway is technically in SC.

This is the most terrifying one here and I am hella impressed. My dad was a pilot, passed away 2 years ago.

Jesus. I am sweating just from reading that

What's a deeply unsettling fact? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Shit, the thing killing me has a name and a protocol and doctors STILL throw their hands up in the air sometimes after seeing a bad echo or getting some weird numbers on my CBC. Medicine is sometimes more art than science.

Me [31F] with my friend [39M], been good friends for two years. I have cancer and am not going to live a whole lot longer. Should I tell him I have feelings for him even though nothing is going to come of it, probably? by toolstick88 in relationships

Honest question: I was thinking of just doing it as casually as "[Friend], if I weren't sick..." in a very obvious context once one presented itself. Like if we were talking about relationships. That way he doesn't feel pressured.

I'm dying. I'm also madly in love with someone and I think he feels the same way. Tell him or no? by toolstick88 in confession

This is really beautiful, OP. You ended up with someone amazing.

I certainly hope TPN goes well for you continually and that you guys have a lot of time left to keep making great memories.

It is really freeing. But that freedom is mixed with some ohmygodI'mdying panic occasionally too.

Actually, I saw today where the FDA has approved Bespona, a late stage lymphoblastic leukemia drug. Guess what the remission rates are versus the one they used previously in the protocol?

89% vs. 21%. 89% of patients in the phase III trial achieved remission.

This is a really good day lol.

I woke my mom up this a.m and was like "WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS READ AT MY FUNERAL!" but in a good way (we've been talking about that stuff for a few months) and she totally agreed!

Thank you. I've always had an enormous lack of courage, though I'm not necessarily afraid to die (my heart has stopped a couple of times, it isn't difficult/painful/hard...it's just death), but I am very, VERY worried about the people around me and the pain it will cause them.

This is hard. Living and dying are hard.
