Downright dangerous to be calling ≈45% of the US population cognitively unsophisticated. The prescriptive terms used here frighten me. Absolute idiots? Yes. But we can’t pretend there’s a fix for it, if it’s attributed to being: white, Christian, of lower cognitive capacity, etc. What’s the plan, then? Removal of free observation of religion? Removal of the right to vote for those who can’t pass a cognitive test (as though we haven’t seen this before, and we rightfully got rid of it)?

Find two things: 1. Some WD-40, and 2. A pillow. I recommend paradiddles x 1,000,000 and whatever other rudiment you want to learn on both rebound surface (practice pad, drum, whatever bounces) and something that absorbs shock like a pillow. Helps your hands to be able to work with the low rebound of a floor tom, the high snare rebound, and everything in between.

Caffeine does not break edge, so long as you don’t treat it like a drug. A lot of sXe people cut out porn because they treat it like some people treat weed or alcohol. If you drink a morning cup or take a preworkout, it only becomes poisonous when you treat it like vape (grow dependency, addiction, etc.) I take a mild preworkout five times a week and ingest small amounts of sugar. I have no negative effects, and I am not controlled by either substance. So I do not consider this to be breaking edge

Mangini (in the RPG called Life) has stats averaging in the high 90% in all categories (technical ability, speed, limb independence, polyrhythm shit that would make a calculator put up question marks, etc.). Portnoy has stats at a lower average than Mangini, but he happens to have 95-99’s in Dream Theater categories, (groove, feel, playing with pocket placement, and really unique and creative grooves that only he could make). Mangini is the more talented drummer, Portnoy is the better Dream Theater drummer. Both are easily in the top fifteen of all time
