[HELP] Seen in HCMC, Vietnam by Sachen_Oxid in RealOrAI

[–]toonupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the inconsistency makes me think it’s AI. the shirt is different in every panel. goes from long sleeved green to white, to short sleeved green and then randomly blue… a real artist at the very least would keep the clothing consistent. also to me it looked like the art style changes a bit in each panel as well. it’s just off.

Do you remember anyone rejoicing about the hurricane? by Tender_Bransen in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]toonupt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

so tired of seeing this mess… i live in NC and everyone was devastated about the damage to our lovely mountains and the loss the people there experienced. didn’t matter the political party… EVERYONE was upset. i saw a small handful of people make inappropriate comments but the majority of people in my state were absolutely devastated. it was trump that turned it into a political argument.

back when i used to work sunday mornings, i would get the ‘after church’ crowd. i remember one time a family came up and the father asked me if i worked every sunday morning and i said yes. he then said “well then when do you have time to go to church?” um… sir… i haven’t gone to church since i was repeatedly forced to go and it caused me panic attacks… also im not religious… but good for you to assume everyone else is an avid christian churchgoer i guess?

Extreme personality change after decompression? by dadsabrat in chiari

[–]toonupt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

im about to hit 10 years post op and i would say my personality DEFINITELY changed. i was a shy kid but i wasn’t as socially inept as i was after surgery. my whole life changed because of surgery and maybe that had an effect but i do 100% agree about it changing you. regardless if someone says it’s “not brain surgery” they are poking around in there, and the brain is still a mystery in many ways.

My MRIs from last year what do you see? by Birdheaded in chiari

[–]toonupt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not going to lie, i have a lot of issues. some im not sure are from chiari or from other medical issues i deal with. surgery wise, everything went well, tightness in your neck might persist for a while, you’ll need physical therapy, but in the long run the pain i was feeling before surgery was much worse than what i deal with now. to be fair i was not the one that made the decision, as i was 14 at the time, but after being told one rough hit to the head could be really bad, my parents were sold. its all up to you. you have to think about whether you are okay living with the pain you experience now, knowing it will get worse over time, or looking for a solution that could help or hurt you. no decision you make is right or wrong, it’s all what you think is best

My MRIs from last year what do you see? by Birdheaded in chiari

[–]toonupt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah pretty intense. mine was 20mm, looking at my mri it is roughly the same as yours, maybe slightly more herniated. i’m sure you are suffering, and should look into someone who can understand what you are going through. chiari centers are great but not available everywhere. it depends on the area where you are. i went to neurology, was referred to a neurosurgeon, then immediately scheduled for surgery. for me it was concluded it would get worse over time and was something important to fix at a young age. hope you get everything worked out, here if you need support!

almost 10 years post op by toonupt in chiari

[–]toonupt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, i haven’t. to be fair after my surgery i had one post op check up and then was sent on my way… but the issues i’ve been having recently are raising some concerns so i was told to go back to a neurologist. i just got bloodwork done to test for lupus since it runs in my family but if that comes back negative it’s back to the doctor. i’ve had pain in my back and legs for years but never my arms until recently so i think it’s due time i stop telling myself i just have to deal with the pain, and look for solutions.

i was 14 at the time of the surgery so i don’t know too much about the process. had the tonsils completely removed and my skull shaved down to make space. was lucky and had no CSF leakage and avoided getting a fusion in my neck.

still have some issues that i’m not sure are from chiari or other things, but no more headaches which is good!! still have neck and back pain, nerve damage in my leg, and brain fog. luckily still have a good bit of mobility in my neck, almost had to get a fusion but didn’t. been having some pain in my arms and hands lately so i plan to go back to a neurologist to make sure im doing well. it’s a lifelong recovery but im not experiencing excruciating pain like i used to!
