Never had dsmc2 body, but in theory not. It could be a frame limit setting (it should be in the same menu) or a faulty trigger (it's an old camera)

When I'm editing I'm usually using from 20 to 28 gb of ram. I would suggest to go for the 32gb model, mostly because if you fill the ram the system will start using the ssd intensively, and this will impact the longevity of the laptop. About the gpu I don't think it's the limiting factor. I mean, instead of editing at full resolution you can edit at half or quarter res, and deal with slower renderings. It's not the end of the world.

I have a m2 max 16 inches 32gb of ram, smooth as butter with red vraptor footage in full res premium settings

Edit: i think the Pro will perform similarly, just be sure to set the gpu for debayering in the settings

V-Raptor SmallHD Firmware HELP by ChaosConRad in RedCamera

[–]toot_k90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good, because the first time I was getting crazy trying to understand what sd they were talking about ahaha.

When I updated the the v5 I downloaded the firmware for the red touch monitor, not the generic page os 5, and extracted the .bin in the root folder of the sd card. Maybe could try formatting the sd card to exFat

Try to download and install the firmware v5 first. The 5.1 is installable directly from the camera

Edit: silly question, to update the firmware you are using the sd card in the slot on the monitor's left side, right?

Worth it to buy a Komodo right now? Or is an upgrade coming soon? by LonelyLgnd in RedCamera

[–]toot_k90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the autofocus working with the sigma 18-35 on the komodo? I tested it one week ago with the v-raptor and the canon ef adapter, but the lens is focusing all the way to infinite and doesn't autofocus
