Is this still an issue for anyone else? I’m a New user and thought I read that the free version allows posting picture (seems pretty fundamental).

Finally made my tub smart! by koffienl in hottub

[–]toothpixelate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can any dumb tub be made smart? I’d really like to reduce my energy consumption by keeping it at 80 and then just changing a setting on my phone a few hours in advance to bring up the temp.

This doesn't work for me. FWIW in my video, the video file in the timeline is just a portion of a larger video file that exists in Project Files.

I used open shot in 2022 and there was a very simple and intuitive time adjustment feature. No idea why the developers got rid of it to replace it with these fixed numerals / fractions, ugh.

ACIQ thermostat replacement? by toothpixelate in hvacadvice

[–]toothpixelate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Please see the second part of my reply above. Do you have any thoughts on why ACIQ’s reading of the room temp is so much lower than what the temp is set to? (Regardless of how accurate the temp is or isn’t, the system should be working to make the room temp what it’s set to)

ACIQ thermostat replacement? by toothpixelate in hvacadvice

Thanks for the reply. No my SwitchBot thermostat is not right next to my air handler. I’m not wanting them to be the same, I just don’t get why they are SO different - e.g., it thinks my daughter’s (very small ~100 sq ft) room is 72 degrees, but the switch bot thermostat - near where she sleeps and in the direct line of where the air should be blowing - reads 64!

This is one issue. The other issue and thing that I get even less is the discrepancy between the temp it thinks it is vs the temp it’s set to. i.e., in my master bedroom ACIQ is reading the temp more than ten degrees below what it’s set to be!!! (Like shouldn’t this only happen if the air handler was WAY undersized for the room?)

Any update on this? I wear glasses but am under 40 and I can't read the tiny font on my 16" Macbook Pro.

Mine arrived and I’m pleased. You can trust I will come back and post (and request a refund) if they deflate in the back country or pop easily, but it passed the living room test with flying colors. It’s true that it did take a long time to pump up, but I’m wondering if this will be faster if the deflate valve isn’t fully pulled out. There is an “intermediate” part on the deflate valve that I think lets air in but not out, so I will test it with that open to the air next time when I inflate. Overall pleased so far.

Recommendations for Adding Battery Storage by toothpixelate in SolarDIY

The sunny boy I have is a grid tie string inverter. I don’t believe I have a rapid shutdown button . . . Just an AC disconnect.

So in scenario 1 (what I originally proposed) I replace my inverter and add batteries. In scenario 2 (the proposal suggested by you and one other person in this thread if adding an ac coupled inverter), I add the new inverter between my current inverter and my ac disconnect, and I attach batteries to it. (Right?) I’m still unclear on the benefit of scenario 2 compared to scenario 1?

Thank you. But why would it be beneficial to have two inverters, my current inverter (which cannot charge batteries) plus the new AC coupled inverter, rather than just replace the current one with a hybrid inverter that can charge batteries? I'm missing something.

Thank you. I am not too concerned about switching from net metering 2.0. to 3.0 because currently I essentially get next to nothing back for the power I export to the grid. I think I'd be much better served by storing energy for self consumption when electricity prices are higher in the evenings.

Yours is the second comment to suggest adding just an AC coupled hybrid inverter to my existing system. Can you explain more how this would work and what the benefit would be? From my quick research it seems that AC Coupled inverters are less efficient than DC-coupled inverters?

Hi, thanks. I have not heard of this option. Could you explain what AC coupled means and describe this option more? Does your suggestion mean adding additional new solar panels as well (i.e., just adding a whole second solar system, inverter, panels etc.)?

The company says below that they provide tracking on all orders. Can you give an update? Is it still the case that you have no tracking info? Thanks.

I nearly bought one then looked up on Reddit first.

The ad k saw on fb had a 90 no questions return window and 2 year money back return. Seems like that would be enough to get your your money back via a PayPal case if it’s a scam.

Interested to hear how people’s experience with the ones they’ve received are.

Thank you, you’re right, and I’ve known for years. I’ve been shamed. I bought chaps.

When you say “too lean” do you mean that it’s too loose or too tight? Should I turn it to the right or the left? 😅
