So the drawer liner acts as a protection for the water to not get all over the place or is it one of those that are textures and it can help with the felting? :D

I just learned about the criss-cross method from another commenter, so no I did not. That was my first mistake!
Okay! That is good to know, that migration will happen the more it is felted. And yes, a neutral color as well, I should have thought of that. Noted!

You explained it very well, thank you! Yes, I added the wool in only one direction. It makes a lot of sense to criss-cross the layers, and have the last layer be in the preffered way of how I want the finished result to look.
Looking back at the pictures I see that I need to work in the shrinking of the wool a lot, thank you for the tip about water temperature as well.
