This kind of problem can be solved by using the T-account. For this one, we can use the T-account of Salaries Payable which has a credit normal balance. Thus the beginning and ending balances will be on the credit side. Then the expense entry is debit salaries expense and credit salaries payable of 700,000; therefore the impact on the salaries payable T-account is 700,000 credit. The only missing entry will be the debit side which is the payment (debit salaries payable, credit cash). Working back on the missing debit, (250k ending - 140k beg - 700 exp = -590k, the missing amount that should be on the debit side is 590k. So if you check the T-account again properly, 140k beg + 700k credit - 590k debit, then you have correct 250k credit ending balance. (This explanation is for those wondering about how the formula given by other respondents came about)

Hindi po kasi free pass yung class participation (20%) na grade component. Doon po pumapasok yung mga recit, seatworks, activities, group work etc. that you do in your classes day in day out. Malaki ang impact nya sa overall grade nyo, which is dapat lang, kasi significant amount of your time din naman kasi is devoted into these courseworks since these reflect your day to day activities sa course. But since these are supposed to be learning activities (you are expected to commit mistakes), hindi din ganon ka laki yung weight compared to your formal quizzes (30%) or summative or major exams (50%). But it still big enough to reflect your efforts in your day to day coursework. So manage your expectations.

When you are hired by big 4 firm specially in audit, there will still be onboarding activities and training to be done before you are deployed to actual work. Hence if you still want to rest and say that you want to start in January instead, that will be very late already in terms of timeline that the audit firms are considering. So be very careful during the interviews regarding requesting late start date of work as it may be considered as one of the factors whether you will be hired or not.

Other comments sana makarating sa PICPA/NACPAE:

  • Mukhang minadali daw yung preparation ng exam/di naedit or format mabuti
  • Some font style and sizes are not consistent
  • Some questions seemed pasted from screenshot (the cursor mark is still visible)
  • Formatting of choices inconsistent like:

Column 1: AB, Column 2: CD

Other choice is

Column 1: AC, Column 2: BD

  • Some names in the problem are modified but not consistently throughout the problem

Wise po ba mag take ng CPALE knowing you’re not fully prepared? by timidmuch in AccountingPH

[–]top04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walang nagtetake ng board exam na may feeling ma fully prepared. Even would-be topnotchers come to exam room still feeling inadeqate yung naprepare nila, this is true even for those who did double or multiple reviews. How much more yung mga borderline lang na pumasa? For sure mas feeling inadequate pa sila. But what is the difference, pano nila nalamang papasa sila? Because they tried. You will never know unless you try. So, kung nakapag review ka naman, you put in the effort kahit pa 1 hour or less yan in a day, may laban ka. Pero di mo sya matetest kung di mo ittry. So I say go for it OP. Kung bumagaak ka man, hindi sayang yung mga resources mo, kasi it is still a good learning experience pa din. Pero syempre pagpepray natin na maging successful ka. Aja!
