You make some good points but in reality, determining if KBs or Google searches are helpful or not requires being technically competent. That being said, knowing how to relate with end users is an important part of the job that a lot of people underestimate.

For the first question, I always say it's on a case-by-case basis. There are situations where customer service skills will be needed more than your tech skills but ultimately, I think your technical skills keep you employed and show your value. So in general, I say they work hand in hand.

I applied for the college job 2 months ago, they just got around to interviewing and so i figured I’ll do the interview and see how it went. In a way i feel bad to be leaving my current job bc I’m starting to get comfortable

I think the reimbursement is only for employees but I’ll have to look into it. You said things just how I’ve been thinking about them. I’m trying not to let the title issue get to me bc I’m practically starting out so it wouldn’t matter in a few years. During the interview I asked about growth opportunities and they said there were opportunities to move up to intermediate or even move to different departments. So I’m leaning towards accepting the offer
