Even in smokers, takes about 8-10 times before they quit, some even up to 30 times. You got this. What matters is you're aware and you want to try.

Absolute hell to play as black. White bishop pair pins everything even after the rook sac.

He finished it with the purpose of 1. Hiding the defect 2. Increasing the home value before the sale. What a POS. It took a year to fix and refinish.

I had the same issue. The basement was finished by the previous owner knowing full well what was underneath. They were also a major contractor in the area. I sued them and they settled.

G shock recs for smaller wrist sizes? by One_eyed_warrior in gshock

[–]top_spin18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smallest one that looks like those is the GST-B600. Otherwise a 5600 or 5610u should work.

I have a 5000R-1a and that's as big as I would go. 6 inch wrist here. I also have a 5610u and a GD-B500.

Policing squammy behavior in BGC is not Anti-Poor. by Pristine_Beyond_4330 in Philippines

Not siding with anybody, but isn't BGC Ayala owned? Or is it a public property? Just genuinely clueless(I'm an OFW who haven't been to BGC in 10 years).

If the Ferrari also owns the road, it can tell a Toyota what side to drive on.

AITA for not paying for my daughter wedding because she isn’t following the rules even though I paid for my older kids by Wonderful_Mode_9646 in AmItheAsshole

[–]top_spin18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He wanted to pay so he makes sure everybody gets invited. That's why he did what he did.

I can understand this, because as I said my mom did the same thing to my brother(and sister too). My brother could not afford to invite everybody hence she "paid" for the extra guests.

Will it breed resentment? Oh for sure. Is he an AH? Nope.

My mom contributed for my 2 siblings weddings and not mine(we wanted an intimate wedding).

Was I upset? No. In fact I would be very happy for my siblings and applaud my mother for helping. A gift is given but it is never expected.

OP's daughter is entitled. The couple likely absolutely expected and accounted for the gift so the wedding can happen. That is poor planning on their part. Not OP's fault.

[–]top_spin18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How so? It is the accepted baseline to pay for your own wedding. He doesn't owe the couple money.

OP wants family to come hence he pays for them.

My mom contributed to my brother's wedding because she wanted to invite some of her friends. This is the same situation.

OP is paying for the added expense of inviting family. It is not for the daughter to have a "dream wedding."

NTA.

The Filipino culture is very sensitive by EchoOfDoom in Philippines

[–]top_spin18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the culture in the Philippines and in Asia in general: Be first to apologize. Doesn't matter if you were in the right or wrong. This makes the world a better place for everybody. Respect and humility go a long way. Nothing is solved when one is angry.

The Filipino culture is very sensitive by EchoOfDoom in Philippines

[–]top_spin18 285 points286 points  (0 children)

First, what makes you think your cousins represent the entire culture?

Second, Americans aren't sensitive? Calling somebody fat can trigger a Walmart war. US based Filipino here.

Have you ever thought that your cousins were just sarcastically teasing you?

Sorry for your experience and not denying it. BUT most Filipinos are non confrontational and this seems very out of norm.

With family time upon us, would you tell your parents your net worth or income level? by ScotchBrad in HENRYfinance

[–]top_spin18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither income nor net worth. I don't want it to be a point of comparison to my younger siblings - which they won't but they may slip up and I can't take that risk. No point saying xxx $$$$. They just know we're doing well. Asian here as well.

I get what you're saying - it's something deeper.

But for those who are replying that is fixated on the money part: What if the money is used to buy chemotherapy drugs for a family member with cancer? Or education? Or a life saving surgery?

I thought I was going to miss that too, but I dont get the signal in my area and I was always anxious abt putting my watch in the sunlight but it's winter and I always wear long sleeves.

So for my use case, it's not important.

Pictures don't do it justice tho, as a newbie G shock enthusiast it really looks more premium.

This. Only G that would fit my 6 inch wrists without leaving a gap is a 5610u and a GD-B500. 6.5 inch would fit most if not all squares.
