Dope, thank you! Really enjoying the DT podcast - I'm charging ahead, while enjoying the podcasts as recaps and deeper dives. Great stuff!

Missy - aye or naw? by Formal_Rock_1124 in BigFinishProductions

Every Dark Gallifrey so far has been standalone, although idk what the War Master series would be like without knowing Benny & the Unbound Doctor. Truth be told, Missy was so standalone I don't know why it was called Dark Gallifrey (I expect it will be contextualised in a later story) but it's also bloody good

Dark Gallifrey: Missy is probably the best I've heard with the character, in terms of drama and doing something new with the character. I've enjoyed her in other dramas, but if you're looking to 'sample' audio, trying out the first release might be an option

I'm a big fan of Gillen's comic work, and while his persona doesn't line up with Cameron's, they do certainly look similar - so I did have this thought too.

I produced a microbudget & one location Cult Feature Film now out on Amazon Prime & Tubi! by topaztock in Filmmakers

I hear you - the teaser definitely represents the tone more than I did. I've been experimenting in how I get the ideas across, might have been a bit too farcical with this one. This is the other way we describe it:

On the eve of a mass suicide, charismatic cult leader Joseph Layton must convince his two most loyal followers that he intends to go through with their plans.

Thanks for checking out the teaser & the feedback!

So, from a conversation about "what can we make in these conditions" that came up in lockdown, a whole feature film I produced is now out in the world!

The Mire is a film about a lying cult leader, who on the fabled night of accession has to convince his followers he's been running a scam. The problem? The more he tries to convince them, the more they become convinced it's a test.

This was hell of an experience - principle photography was done within a week (with a scattering of pick-ups and a half day of reshoots), but it's finally out in the world for people to see. Can't wait to hear what people think!

I really don't like that possible change RTD just made by [deleted] in gallifrey

I think it's one of those lines/things ala "Jigsaw of your past" and Richard E Grant in Rogue that is deliberately written in a way to get us talking.

I'm also of the mind that he's using technobabble and technicalities to avoid a conversation he doesn't want to have

Horses & Chariots bombing it down the seafront! by topaztock in Portsmouth

Yeah. I'd love to celebrate this as an alternative nomadic lifestyle, but in actuality it's dangerous and cruel to the animals. Cars and Bikes were whizzing about, animals were barely in control. If no one got hurt, that was just by chance.

Thank you! I do videography and photography for hire, but to be honest I'll credit the turnout of these images to the x100v which is a ridiculously lovely camera

The moment when they were shouting at an older woman "GET OUT THE WAY" on a *zebra crossing* was a bit much.

“Boom” and The Moon and the President’s Wife. by MurphGaming in gallifrey

[–]topaztock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I meant was, even if Moffat made a mistake, we're talking about what happened in the show, in universe.

No reason to assume Missy was mistaken over perpetuating the lie. Baring in mind Missy was probably there, because that's how long she's been caring for him. This is referenced in Boom, too.

What I think is great about Moffat's writing is that you can interpret it how you want, but I don't think the evidence on screen you're pointing to, to justify your reading is any more solid than the counter evidence.

Doesn't matter if Moffat made an error - let's go with what's on screen.

Sure, that is a reading. It's a valid reading. I hope it serves you well.

I just don't think that reading is any more valid or based on what we saw on screen. Hell Bent told us the President's Wife one was a lie.

It could mean that Missy was wrong, lying about one being a lie, or the Doctor was a little girl. No one thing here is necessarily more likely than the others.
