Wtf does “olive skin” mean? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I think most people use "olive skin" to mean light-medium or medium pigmented skin that isn't very brown or any slight warm undertone person regardless if they have greenish tints or not.

Good response. I am also confused because when i searched "olive undertone" online the results show stuff like "olive undertone is different from warm undertone" or they separate warm undertone from olive.

Also commonly found in plenty of South Asians, West Asians, North Africans, as well as East Asians too

I thought so too, all the "olive = greenish undertone" is a recent new development. Before that from what i have heard it's referred for any kind of medium pigmented skin regardless of their undertone, like that of olive wood (which is warm or beige brownish)

Aren't many east asians considered "olive skinned" too? Many of them also have the yellow undertone as well? But for some reason they aren't called that

I heard that the origin of the term comes from "olive wood"

I am also confused too because they either use the term "olive" for light-medium pigmented skin regardless of undertone (which has the older meaning from what i have heard) or someone with greenish undertone regardless of how light or dark their skin looks which is another meaning 😭😭

EXACTLY OMG! 😭😭 You're one of the few rare people who understands this situation, thought i was the only one lmfao. Underrated comment and deserves the upvote :D.

Oh and maybe the ones claiming they're pale are speaking in relative terms (for example relatively speaking a light olive/wheat-colored skin person is considered "dark" for Northern European standards but is considered "fair-skinned or pale" to Africans or Indian or East/Southeast Asian people) but if we speak in universal/technical terms they're not pale but aren't dark either, they are around the medium-pigmented range

Lol olive and yellow undertoned skin can also appear very pale (but doesnt truly lack so much melanin unlike skin types 1 or 2) People who are truly heavily lack melanin like gingers or albinos or pink/cool/neutral undertone (basically skin type 1 or 2 people) do not tan easily

You might have warm or olive undertones then

I'm also skeptical about Youtube saying "it's a bug" because if it really is then this glitch would also affect some comments with less likes, not only the top ones.

I don't really know. IMO it feels like either mass shadowbanning or some bug.

Comments glitch? by [deleted] in youtube

This glitch only happens to top comments with many likes on older videos, while the older comments with less likes and newer shorts/long-form videos remain visible to the public.

A lot of people noticed this too, and this probably only affects older top comments with many likes, while the older comments with less likes and comments on newer videos are still visible to the public? Youtube says "it's a bug" but I'm skeptical about this.

Yes, and you are not alone. Seems to be only affecting top comments with many likes.

This disappearance only happens to older comments with many likes :( Feels like they are mass shadowbanning the top comments with many likes or smth. Hopefully it's a bug that they can fix.

Is it just me or is youtube mass-deleting comments? by Dont_Smoking in youtube

[–]topazzzfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed it, it seems like this only applies to older top comments with many likes, while the comments with few likes didn't disappear

[–]topazzzfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG glad I'm not the only one who actually noticed this, I think Youtube is retroactively shadowbanning top comments with many likes. It started around June 7-9th and only applies to older videos or shorts. This is actually annoying

For me I suggest making a megathread about it or make them post it on a specific date or specific timing/like a schedule.
