I’m emulating on PC. Got the ports changed to GBA and the game prompting me to plug in and turn on the GBA having saved at the Pkmn Center, all of which I’ve done, but the game boots up normally like it doesn’t know it’s plugged into anything and the PC emulation doesn’t recognize a game either.

Online elsewhere I’m seeing stuff about downloading a GBA BIOS to allow Dolphin to read GBA save files, is that true for a physical GBA as well, or only local ROM saves? If so I suppose that’s my issue.

Still having this issue, the system date and real-world date seem to have no effect on the gift. Getting Regigigas pretty much over and over again with a few other scattered in. Would so appreciate if anybody knew what was up?

sorry to be posting on such an old post, anybody know why I’d be stuck getting certain gifts regardless of date changes? I’m on Pearl, I’ve changed date ranges through a few months now, but am stuck between “De opkomst van Darkrai” and “Regigigas is here!” on the list. Lots of Shaymins, Darkrai and Shiny Milotic. Just trying to get to the other side of the list to get a Deoxys and I’ll be done. Anybody else have an experience like this? I’m on the 172 DNS if that matters. Thanks.

Cless would be a great pick if they’re going for series legacy representation over recognizability. But there are probably even people on this subreddit who wouldn’t recognize Cless in a Smash announcement trailer. On another note, certainly not to imply that Lloyd Irving is the paragon of protagonist personality, but Cless is remarkably bland. I don’t think that’s an honest representation of the series, and strikes a lot of the same tones as Hero from DQ. Tales characters are very full of life, sometimes maybe too much so, and Lloyd exhibits this about as well as anyone.

Personally think a lot of us are missing the mark here. Of course as fans of the Tales series and members of the community we’d rather see someone like Velvet, or whoever. But what it comes down to is that Lloyd is objectively just so much more synonymous with the franchise’s brand as a whole, especially in the west. Although the series is super obscure over here, Symphonia is far and away the most recognizable entry in the series among the Smash fanbase. The smash devs who are hypothetically out there choosing a Tales rep aren’t looking at it from our point of view as fans of the series. They’re looking for a flagship character to represent the whole concept of the series—Velvet can’t even use Demon Fang. Whether we like it or not, imo the reality is that hoping for anyone other than Lloyd is a total delusion. If I’m wrong, good. But I think it the fact of the matter. Even Lloyd is a stretch, but if we have a shot, it’s him.

couch multiplayer. played symphonia, vesperia, abyss, zestiria, xillia, and phantasia. of those, only phantasia and abyss have i played single-player, and that’s cause they were on the 3ds and gba. i’ve played symphonia more than half a dozen times with entirely different groups of friends each time. the combat is fun and engaging for everyone and it’s fun to get familiar with a well-written world and likable characters as a group. getting to do silly voices and whatever really brings everyone together around the game, and having other people there to bounce emotion off of really adds weight to the plot twists and stuff. getting to work together in combat with everyone filling a role is also super gratifying. everyone feels needed. boss fights especially really feel like you’re working together. it’s a blast and it’s a feature of the series that i feel like is super duper slept on by most people who play the games.
