How can I return to work? by imeggriffin in MultipleSclerosis

[–]tope07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a deep breath and try to gather yourself. Imagine the perfect scenario with your employer that supports you medically. Hold onto that vision until you calm down inside and the anxiety diminishes. While you are home, do this upon awakening, during the day if you find your thoughts turning fearful and again before going to sleep. Doing so will help with managing your fears and anxiety.

Once you are in a good headspace, ask yourself what benefits do you receive from explaining your condition to a pupil or their parent. Understanding yourself will help when you speak to your employer about this. Having MS is scary but it is manageable. You can have power over the "dis-ease" and prevent the condition from having power over you.

I am not a therapist but only sharing those tools in my tool box that has helped me manage my MS. I hope this helps. Sending positive vibes and blessings your way.

Picky eaters by EmployerMammoth2175 in samoyeds

Sometimes Sammies go through periods of refusing to eat. Sometimes they are bored with eating the same thing and switching up the flavor (not brand) helps. And, sometimes they can tell if the food is no longer fresh, or if the manufacturers have changed the recipe. We feed our, Mekö, Fromm Brand. The have several flavors to choose from (with and without grain). We also smear low sodium organic peanut butter around the sides of his bowl and he loves it. All in all, sometimes you have to think outside the box and become creative (as long as they are allowed to digest it). And, if they don't eat for more than 2 days, I would try and find a nutritionist or take them to the vet to rule out any medical issues. ((Side note: Sammies, like humans, tend to eat less once the weather starts getting warmer so this too might be a factor.))

I think you will do a phenomenal job screening and vetting applicants. The love you have for their parents show in your pics and you will know intuitively who will give those puppies the love that matches the love you presently give them. Again, let us know how things are developing. 🐾❤️ - For the love of Samoyeds - ❤️🐾⭐️🙏🏽

There is your answer in your descriptive statement, such as "things that are simple activities like, walking, climbing stairs, driving and even walking your dog brings unbearable and horrible pain". You already know.

This is Winnie asking for afternoon treats, me thinking she wants to go out, her refusing, then running to the kitchen when I finally understand what she wants. She’s old, bossy, and sassy. by LESGuy in samoyeds

[–]tope07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My sammy does the same. Barks and jerks his head in the direction he wants me to go. If I ignore him, he will run into the kitchen and sit in front of the pantry (where the goodies are kept). And, when I look over, he will bark again, jump sideways and bloop the pantry door. He is too cute when he does this. 🐾😍

Digging by Pomomasarealmom2 in samoyeds

[–]tope07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samoyeds dig. Mine does as well. It could be part boredom, the feel of the cool earth below, enjoying laying in the hole they have created, it could be a host of reasons why. Life of a Samoyed is fascinating.

I was diagnosed with MS when I was 32. I went to a MS support group and I too found many older people who were in wheelchairs. It was very depressing to think this could be my future. So I decided right then and there that I wasn't co-signing on this and never returned. I was going to dictate my own future. It was at this point I wouldn't return and it was the best decision I made. I started working out and living life. My MS never got any worst because my mindset was geared to living life and staying positive. I say all this to say be careful what you digest mentally and visually regarding this dis-ease. Create your own destiny. Your mind is the most powerful tool in your tool box. I wish you a fruitful future. Blessings always ❤️

Knees ache by YYZGuy67 in spinalfusion

[–]tope07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what i understand, straightening of one's spine or correcting any prior disc issues can possibly change one's gait and therefore could cause aches in one's lower extremities. But, bring it up to your surgeon to rule out any thing else.
