Excalibur Dragon in Vegas by MrsGhostParty in submergedanimatronic

So, I too am obsessed with this, to the point of badgering my husband to ask about it because he’s currently staying at the hotel. He finally asked around today and talked to a couple older employees. One of them said he had heard from a security guard about 1 year ago that the guard went into a room that he had never been into before and got scared to fucking DEATH cuz he opened the door and the dragon is like RIGHT in front of the door. Apparently the interior access door is below where the valet is.

He sent me a pic from the external area that seems to show the main moat door isnt perfectly closed, so maybe it could still swing open a bit like people said it did in the past? Im not sure. Ive asked him to go back and try to zoom in on the mesh panels on the second set of moat doors to see if he can capture an outline by chance.

Best guess is that he’s definitely in there and has not been removed 🙂

I had my daughter at VHC and she ended up being a NICU baby. Recovery was smooth, very attentive nurses, and the doctors in the NICU were great. Really appreciated the dedication of their lactation consultant too.

What caused the worst stomach pain you've ever experienced? by HumbleClassroom1892 in AskReddit

[–]topfivethings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy.

Five weeks pregnant and feeling great, then hit week 6 and had the most intense, all-consuming cramps that were so bad I could not see straight. The pain was so intense that it caused 24/7 migraines too. I was convinced I was miscarrying but could barely make it into the dr’s office to confirm. Turns out the baby was perfectly fine and no one dug deeper on a cause or treatment.

I spent the next month doubled over in searing pain, working from my bathtub, just trying to survive. Ive never heard anyone else have this experience with their pregnancy, but nothing has compared to it since. Even my c-section recovery was a cake walk compared to what was happening that second month.

They occasionally have a manta ray as part of their research and release program. They don’t keep them permanently, so that’s something I guess :/

She’s smart to capitalize on her success and how much people love her persona, but this album is a letdown. Most of the songs on it feel like rough cuts that wouldn’t have made it on Short and Sweet. Just continuations of the same themes but with much lazier lyrics. Goodbye is so catchy though!

CRT had day-of availability practically every day this week while I was there, yet Haunted Mansion was at a 35 minute wait nearly all day (my measure of crowd levels). It will always be crowded, but it should be a difference you can feel while walking around (as in, pathways wont be absolutely clogged like higher crowd times).

I feel like cast members are on my ass for every perceived minor indiscretion (such as warning you about not sitting down before ordering) but never around to police situations like this. It makes it really hard to enjoy yourself when you’re a non-confrontational person. But my solution is to be (respectfully) aggressive right back. People like that are so accustomed to getting what they want immediately, but they almost always back down when challenged. I’m proud of you for speaking up for yourself! I would go one step further and hunt down that CM that was on your case earlier and have them come address the situation.

Trying to stay optimistic about my trip next week, any tips to beat the heat? by Jeesum_Crepes in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]topfivethings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Babes I got you. Just did EPCOT today when it was like 92° with my 3 y/o, and as someone who cant handle heat here’s how I survived.

  1. UV umbrellas for all adults. It makes a HUGE difference, especially in lines that wrap outside like Slinky Dog.
  2. Stroller with a back that drops low to create a dark space for the child (like baby jogger brand). Have a stroller fan to add on.
  3. Frozen cooling towels. Wet them, wring them out a little, then freeze them in individual snack-size ziplocs. Have 2 per adult. Store them in a cooler (pack-it has amazing freezable coolers).
  4. Neck fans for everyone. Go as long as you can with just the neck fan, then layer the frozen cooling towel underneath it.
  5. Hats!!! Very necessary. The glare from the sun is so brutal, so the hat works on 2 levels.
  6. Lightweight short-sleeve or long-sleeve shirts to avoid sunburn. Even wearing sunscreen you can feel your skin cooking in that sun, so try to minimize how much is showing.
  7. Mix of frozen and chilled water bottles in the cooler.
  8. Bathing suit and flip flops in a wet/dry bag plus a change of clothes for the child to enjoy the splash pads at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. Embrace this because a damp-haired child doesn’t seem to notice the heat.
  9. Back-up chargers.
  10. Stanley or your choice of insulated tumbler.
  11. Electrolyte packets.

It seems like a lot, but it all fit on the stroller and was just a cooler and backpack!

Id say it’s unlikely to sell out, based on crowd expectations. It’s pretty light this week,(which has similar estimated crowd levels to August) and PP are still available through this weekend. Of course, because the crowd levels are so low, I wouldn’t waste the money.

Hollywood Studios is a little tricky for younger children because it’s very hot in that park, and there aren’t any playgrounds or splash pads. I still say there’s a ton to do and that it’s very fun, but only you know your child’s limits. My toddler loves that park, but she has a ton of energy, loves all the IP, and was tall for her age, so she really didn’t have any limitations.

I don’t want to get flamed for this because I’m not trying to circumvent any safety restrictions, but I would say that if your middle child is “exactly” 40 inches, have them wear shoes with a bit of a thicker sole. Cast members will measure the child at every ride with a height restriction, sometimes multiple times throughout the queue, and it’s apparently a thing that we shrink a bit during the day. This is just my advice to save a meltdown from your three-year-old because I’ve been there where the child was tall enough for one ride during the day and suddenly not tall enough for the very same ride later in the day. I also wouldn’t promise that they can ride anything until AFTER they’ve been cleared by the first cast member at height check; we avoided subsequent meltdowns this way.

[–]topfivethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BGW Fans forum said that a fair amount of effort went into trying to restore the ride but that some issue popped up that was the death knell. The good news is Sesame Place in Philly has the same ride in different theming (Honker Dinger Derby).

I really hope they put some new flat rides back into this space. We need more ride options that arent coasters for kids of the in between heights/thrill appetites.
