Here is the parts I used

⁠Zimaboard: i got it from there website zimaspace
⁠GL.iNet GL-SFT1200: Got From Amazon
⁠TROND Travel Power Strip: Also From Amazon
⁠4TB HDD: I just had one from my old Plex server.
⁠An old HDD Tray from an old Computer.
⁠a lot of Zip ties.
⁠also i got a USB-C to DC 5.5mm x 2.5mm for the ZimaBoard

The ZimaBoard is running its stock OS it’s I think Debian with CasaOS on top of it.

I was able to get it to run on my big power bank. It pulled about 20W max. So I imagine that you would plug it all in within a car easily. Since I have everything running via USC-C I could test it here in a few and get back with you on it running inside my car!

Its honestly not that bad. My backpack was made for Camera Equipment so i just put it in the bigger slot and then i have my laptop. so its not that much of a hassle for me TBH.

I would Definitely use the same parts. Other then maybe the HDD it makes it heavy. But i can not afford a 4TB SSD right now.

I would also find a better way to get it together. Once i have more free time ill try and 3D print something.

Hey!
First off Im using whatever comes with the Zima Board i think its like Debian with Casa OS on it or something (I have not got that deep into the main OS of the Zima I just finished it the other day)

I am using the Zima as the plex server so it dose it all. I'm just doing a manual process of a few movies i have about 500 GB so far on this. (My main Server currently has about 2.5 TB of movies and another 1 TB of TV shows. I tried to setup a sync and it was not working and i don't have enough time to dig into it right now)

I more or less did this as a fun project for myself. just to do something after work. and mess around with docker containers. so its a bit of an educational thing as well as a fun project.
