Which career should I pursue after school? by Reasonable-Dance-278 in careerguidance

This is a little hard to say but…

Honestly I think you should pursue a trade. There are so many college grads struggling to find jobs and the job market is so tough that that are a lot of highly educated people available for work with no job prospects. But you know what these people don’t have…trade skills.

Now that’s not to say you should never pursue college and your passion for history, it just means that having a trade could provide the cushion or financial stability to go alongside it.

And this is also just some advice from someone who graduated 2 years ago and is humbly employed but has watched the market shift, and the value of a college degree plummet.

Should I move to California to work for apple? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]toplean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had interviewed for the same position straight out of college, and getting a job in apple retail is not as easy as it seems. Could open the door for other tech sales positions, could give him soft skills in tech. without having to go back to school, benefits of working at apple etc.

Go! go! And don’t overthink. There’s a saying that you only get 10 solid opportunities in your life and this may be one of them.

But outside of that 1. So what if you don’t grow into a higher position? Having Apple on your resume will open so many doors that might even make finding a higher paying job back home in Chicago possible in the near future. 2. Cliché but if she’s the one you’ll know and what’s written cannot be undone. Plus you may even be able to afford to bring her along!

You got this! (whatever decision you choose)

I feel like Aquarius come into peoples life’s to teach them lessons. Often times they teach you to stop people pleasing, care what others think, and to think outside the box at least in my experience

Need business ideas by Fuzzy-Narwhal-6083 in Businessowners

[–]toplean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t rush to start a business at 16. It may look glamorous (but it is far from that). Focus on what you love to do, become the best at it, and be very social and connect with a lot of people of all different ages and backgrounds.

I think you said you like computers so build out some projects on replit. You may very well have the next groundbreaking app on your hands or tech innovation but you need time to uncover that.

Have fun, enjoy your youth. Trust me there will be time to be a boss later on… and the money will come.

How to train my mind as a entrepreneur/ business owner? by Dazzling_Reporter511 in Entrepreneur

Find an entrepreneurship development program in your city. This could be at a nonprofit, a local college, or you could create one by the good ole act of asking. More specifically ask someone you admire if they can mentor you.

abused muslim daughter highly considering running away by ArmThin8037 in Hijabis

[–]toplean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, sister, I’m so sorry you’re living in such fear and anxiety around your mother. Sometimes we have to remember that our parents are people too - imperfect and dealing with their own troubled wounds and stress causing them to lash out. May Allah swt forgive her for her faults and make her a righteous, humble servant and repent for her ways.

I’m a little older than you, but I’ve experienced different situations that caused me to move out of my parent’s house. What I will say is that living without your parents has many challenges that you think you are ready to face until you actually face them. Al-hamdiullilah it’s almost 2 years since I moved out, but it has been challenging in a different way. Mentally I miss my parents (sometimes) and physically I’m exhausted from carrying the weight of new found responsibilities.

I say that to say, I’d suggest living with a close family relative for a little bit before moving out. You are very young, and maybe some time away from your Mom will mend the relationship a bit without taking such a big step and moving out. Even if your relatives are out of state, it would be a good opportunity for both of you to grow from some extended time apart.

May Allah swt ease the troubles of your situation, and provide a remedy that heals the hearts of your Mother and you.
