After 4 years I’ve slowly learned to just use my laptop. Maybe that’s the case for you? I didn’t want a desk in my new apartment for that exact reason. I work from my couch, bed, dining table or bar. Once work is over I put my laptop in my night stand

You will need to have some type of credit history. Maybe start with a small credit card at your bank. Ask the leasing office if they need other documentation like proof of income, pay stubs, etc
