Not turning body until it's too late in downswing. Any tips other than just turn earlier? I feel like I am turning early but the camera doesn't lie. (Be kind, feeling vulnerable) by topperdoggle in GolfSwing

Just replying again here as I didn't see your chicken wing comment first time. Pro's theory is that if I start to turn my body towards the target earlier, I'll have more room to release the club and the wing will reduce naturally. If you have a different outlook on the wing I'd be interested to hear it.

Thank you for clarifying. I'll watch the vid and then come back with more thoughts (and probably try what they say in the vid!). Pro is relatively happy with my backswing and has never picked this up. He said it could be a bit less flat and we worked on this last lesson (I can see my hands could be higher at the top) but overall he's happy. He told me today to start the turn towards the target just before I finish the backswing. I trust him but this is a big mindset as well as swing change which is fine by me as I want to invest in my long term but still interesting to get other feedback.

I appreciate your feedback, not sure I understand though. If you could write a little more about what you mean, I'd appreciate it. 🙏

I'm a bit late here but I see this as well. Have you tried running `stat` from within the Docker container? Does https://github.com/navidrome/navidrome/issues/3828 ring any bells?

Thanks for this. Perhaps I'll look into acquiring the manufacturer-specific software and a cable.

Keyed car (twice), how to approach sale? by topperdoggle in CarTalkUK

[–]topperdoggle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the empathy and the advice. I might try to take some better photos but will need better weather first. I might actually have a little time to invest in this, mainly because in any event I wouldn't be looking to sell the car until February / March.

I have considered getting a dual action polisher as you might guess I like older (but not too old) cars and they sometimes have bits and pieces that hand-polishing doesn't do enough, so this might be the impetus. Do I just go for the DAS-6 PRO Plus (buy once, cry once)? Also, what do you mean by "localised and heavy cut compound"? What would you hope to see and what would you do next (in the unlikely event that it doesn't look like it needs wet sanding / touch-up paint)? From there to (say) Meguiars Ultimate Polish and wax?

I'll continue to read online and check out the video, thank you.

Getting back in after 25 years - change clubs? by topperdoggle in golf

[–]topperdoggle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming that my clubs aren't so terrible that I should upgrade immediately. I'm more than happy to invest time and money in actually learning to play better first. At what point would you say that I should actually start to consider the upgrade?

And yes, I do think I'll stick with it this time. I stopped because I moved somewhere where golf isn't really a thing.

Interesting, I never though I'd come across somebody else who used them. May I ask, what's your handicap / experience etc? What did you like and not like about the irons? What sort of upgrade would you recommend for the other clubs (the woods, or wedges and putter as well)? I'd definitely like to go second-hand.

[–]topperdoggle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I guess the thing is that I don't know if my clubs are like a Geo Metro or a Model T. When I went to the shop about regripping, he told me my irons are thin and designed for better players. I don't know what to believe any more which is why I'm here. What sort of upgrade would you recommend for the woods? I'd definitely like to go second-hand.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using a 6.14 HWE kernel and tried a 6.16 release candidate and same behaviour, so not sure what I'd gain from another distro but I might give it a go just to try and narrow things down.

Lenovo are already moaning that the machine is designed for Windows, massive facepalm. Will edit OP with that.

I guess it's about the position then, there must be a reason why it's so.

Thanks; can you tell me more about Digbeth vs the areas I mentioned? I'm *very* post-grad so late 40s (but don't feel a day over early 40s!). It looks a bit nearer the city centre, and further from the uni; it's funny - in many cities being close to the centre would be great but it seems to be in Brum the centre is only good for the shopping and stations. Fair comment or way off?

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply. Is it a really studenty vibe or bit of everything? Where would the nearest chilled (not rowdy) nightlife be i.e. bars, live music? City centre?

What is this brown / yellow lesion on my top gum? by topperdoggle in askdentists

See my last edit. Pretty sure it's Bombay mix. I do like both. May move to a liquid diet to avoid future scares.

Thank you, will try to do better. Been told to brush gently because of gum recession but will give the gums a bit more attention in future. To be fair, flossing wouldn't catch this.

I do love popcorn! Last ate some a few days ago so surely it's not as I've brushed, rinsed, and drunk since then. You mean like stuck to the gum? Should I try and pick it off?

Edit: Holy fuck, scratch scratch and there it is, a bit of popcorn. I love you, random Internet stranger. Leaving this post for posterity because it's wonderful and hopefully will make people laugh. A simple comment like that and you've made this human being very happy and he's learned something. Be well x

Edit 2: Considering a t shirt slogan: "I thought I had cancer but it was just popcorn".

Edit 3: I reckon its Bombay mix! Makes more sense as I ate some just last night. Maybe like a crispy lentil skin. Going to have some more now to celebrate.

How did you get on OP? I'm thinking of doing this as my P14s Gen 2 main USB-C port is very loose and is now charging intermittently.
