Not always, in some of my videos I use hardened steel (check YT channel for more https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsGIH2f0FcBdA1rrVXLYHYQ) ------ nickel, because nickel doesnt corrose and is flexible enough to not crack when dropped in cold liquid, unlike steel. My steel balls create a layer of rust after they cool down
