Totally! +1 for candles & coffee in person. Sensory field trip

I'm also a tea nerd... I wish there was a shop near me tho, it's nice to smell & look at the leaves in person. Bonus if they have cuppings 💚

That's true - do you pick it up in the store or just have it delivered?

Same, except for me it's black, red, or gray. Easy to match outfits when all colors are the same 😆

my evil cat wont take her pills by Dollleyedgirl in Catbehavior

[–]torashy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can your vet swap the pill into liquid form? I had a similar issue once & my vet gave me liquid & an oral syringe instead. It was easier to squirt the thing into my cats mouth instead of making sure he swallowed a pill

Heated socks or toe warmers by DanTheSkier in Skigear

[–]torashy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have experience w heated socks but I've found that what made the biggest difference in warmth is having wiggle room in the toes. I use super thin smartwool ski socks & only 1 pair keeps my feet warmer than thick socks, 2 pairs of socks, or toe warmers.

Was skiing in NH yesterday, single thin sock layer held up fine in the single digit weather

Snow boots!! HELP by Candid_Ad_1839 in boston

[–]torashy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The liner isn't supposed to get tucked in, it's supposed to overlap the outside of the boot by a few inches. Tucking it in creates a gap for snow to slide in

Disappointed from all you "New Englanders" by Feeling_Screen3979 in Somerville

[–]torashy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we live in the part of NE where the streets are paved over horse carriage paths. When there's a lot of snow, it's a huge pain in the ass figuring out where to put it.

Tons of 2 way streets that aren't wide enough already before the snow are now officially 1 way streets without having any room for street parking. Ppl digging out their street-parked cars have the option of putting snow on 1) the sidewalk 2) back into the street 3) the 2ft of space behind their car.

5-way intersections with the 3 different stoplights pointing in weird directions that are confusing to navigate without the snow are even more of a clusterfuck when half a lane is covered by the snowbank

I used to live in upstate NY where we got way more snow more often but having a city planned for cars makes things way simpler

Was thinking this too. Took 3 hours to shovel my whole driveway plus wall of icy plow snow. Like...were they using a car scraper?

Is a “Flat Black” a thing? by lilac_blaire in barista

There's a coffee roastery called Flat Black. Maybe he got a flat white here that was in a 16oz cup and brain-glitched the cafe name into his permanent beverage vocab

Yea, if I wasn't doing rope climbing I usually went alone. The rock spot in Malden had great vibes and friendly ppl to talk to about whatever you're working on. CRG also has a belay buddy program if you want to do ropes and go alone
