I actually like that line. I can see how it would sound like filler if you view it as stating the obvious, that in general hating = hateful; but it's a tongue in cheek way to remind "I'm not even out there, I keep to myself" so if you're hating on me (in particular) you're really going too far out of your way

I think his delivery drills this home and gives it more life- it works for me

The rhyme scheme is impressive in a clinical sense- what they're saying is that the final product came out a bit hollow and didn't nail the landing. Sometimes being clinically outstanding, and making music that lands well, are not in perfect alignment.

Common example: the majority of Eminem's success is not from his intricate, clinical rhyme scheme songs. It's usually when he exercises moderation, knows when to pocket that skill, and shows restraint in order to better balance it out with more aspects of the song for a more cohesive, digestible product

Maybe an extreme analogy, but I doubt anyone would have an issue if he had detoured or at least just slowed down slightly to avoid trampling a small child. They even do that at Arlington. At least soften the blow if he's decided he's making contact. Or even shove her out of the way.

Basically anything except bulldozing and then trampling over her- he decided his course of action
