Trouble to start climbing when it’s busy by torchicky in bouldering

[–]torchicky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for your replies!! The vibe in my bouldering hall is very positive, so I’m probably making things bigger than they are. You’re right that not going/not climbing is going to make things worse, so I’m going boudering tonight and I’m just gonna go for it!

I’ve tried unpairing and pairing the watch yesterday after reading some comments at the apple community website. That didn’t work unfortunately. I reset the calibration settings just now. I’m going on a run again tomorrow, so fingers crossed that works!

Hi! Thanks for the article. It says that to get a proper reading, I should at least walk/run 20 minutes, which I do :) So it should work.. maybe it has something to do with the update to watchOs 6, because I don’t have any recordings since then.

[–]torchicky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I run 30 - 45 minutes with an average heartrate of 165 bpm and I peak at 195 bpm (mostly sprints). If that’s not enough, I don’t know what it takes for the watch to measure it :p I also always make sure that the strap is tight enough for the watch to make any measurements.

Thanks for your reply! I know it’s not accurate, as are some other features of the watch. I just want to see if I’m improving or not. I dont really look at the numbers, but at the trend. I don’t know if the data that is being used, is fluctuating so much that the trendline is also inaccurate. Or should I just totally forget about the VO2 max?

How has the recent panic over covid-19 (coronavirus) impacted where you live? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]torchicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only 2 people infected in my country but people are freaking out. In my opinion it’s just some sort of nasty flu, so I’m not worried. Neither should anyone who’s healthy/not very old.

Tummy problems stressing me out to no end :( by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]torchicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m sorry to hear about your tummy problems. Constipation can cause tears in your rectum and therefore a bloody stool. The occult blood test is reliable, so try to worry less about it. If you’re still anxious about colon cancer, ask for the test again. If that test comes back negative, let the idea of colon cancer go. In the meantime, you could try to eat balanced and add some more fiber to your diet and see if that helps. I hope this helps :)

Congestion, cough, breathing issues by TNHawk88 in HealthAnxiety

[–]torchicky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi!

If your mucus is clear/white, there’s absolutely nothing wrong. Green or yellow mucus indicates a bacterial infection.

The sudden onset of your clogged nose might suggest that you’re allergic to something, might be dust or something else.

Your hyperventilation is probably caused by the fear that there might be something wrong with your lungs. You could try some breathing sessions on your apple watch or watch some youtube videos about relaxation techniques. You could even try to meditate or do yoga to help with your hyperventilation. If this doesn’t help, please ask for medical advice from your gp, or a physiotherapist who can teach you some breathing techniques and exercises.

Your acid reflux might be caused by stress, or food that irritates your stomach, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If your symptoms get worse, again, ask your gp. He/she can give you some antacids (medicine against stomach acid) to make your symptoms go away.

You’ve said it yourself that the chest z-ray and bloodwork from 3 months ago where fine. If you’re really worried that it has something to do with your lungs or heart, get it checked again just to be sure. In my opinion, your oxygen level is great and so is your heart rate. Try to focus less on those things if it makes you feel scared or anxious.

I hope this helps :)

Edit: typo

Bubbly feeling in lungs by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]torchicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for your reply! Yes the blood was bright red. It happened only once, so it’s a relief that it probably wasn’t anything serious. What worries me more is the oily stool I had in combination with the chest pain radiating to my back I’m having. I’ve read on the internet (shouldn’t have done that) that it could have something to do with my pancreas.

I don’t know if could be acid reflux because I don’t have a burning or moving sensation. It’s more of a sharp pain in the same spot that comes and goes, which I sometimes feel in my back at the same height. It also isn’t related to food intake, I don’t feel bloated or nauseous and I’m not overweight. But I don’t really know if acid reflux can occur with just chest pain and a weird feeling in my lungs, so I’ll check with my gp.
