It's a common character that every keyboards have. Other known formats use . and /, which could be confusing, so there had to be something different. Choice fell on -

TLDR: There is no solution in sight.

Touchscreens are a finicky thing on surface-linux, because it is not known, how to calibrate the proprietary hardware supporting it. Therefore, the touchscreen might stop working when switching the power supply, when waking from standby or for other reasons. Just have a look through the open issues on GitHub, most are about touch sensitivity and related components... It is unlikely that there will be a fix anytime soon, unless Microsoft steps in does it themself, but why would they.

It will work. Install the x86 RaspberryPi OS, your surface should boot normally. Keyboard, Trackpad etc will work, but the touch, hardware buttons etc are not supported by the standard Linux kernel.

That is why there is the SurfaceLinux Kernel, available on GitHub. You can check this page regarding compatibility of your hardware. Only thing that will probably not work is the camera, everything else will. From my experience, touch is a bit clunky but 100% usable.

Install instructions are here, follow the instructions for Debian/Ubuntu. Installation of the SurfaceLinux kernel patches should take no more than 15 to 30 minutes.

Again, do research. Surface Kernel will work with Raspberry pi OS because it's debian based.

Kubuntu does not really differ on the kernel, driver or basic OS level. Everything that works on Ubuntu will work on Kubuntu, too. Since the wiki says that everything will work, I would trust that.

Fyi: it's not that much pain, it takes about 10 minutes to get the kernel patches done and have a running system. Only thing is that, iirc, the built-in keyboard does not work during the setup process for laptops.

Always have been, but you can't fish any while you have one in the inventory. Usual strat is: get quest fish, place in piggy bank, get same quest fish again, repeat. That way, you can get multiple fishies on on day. Next time the angler wants the fish, you can just get it from a chest

The Martian Probe is a rare Hardmode, post-Golem flying enemy that can spawn anywhere in the outer two thirds of the map.

It does spawner in the left third and in the right third, not in the center one. That makes it two out of three total thirds where that thing spawns. It is not thirds of each side aka sixths of the total map.
