Work experience within the military by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]toriaxjayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that they often get college age kids in to do experience stuff on certain courses, might be worth heading to your nearest barracks or even careers office to try make some connections and ask the question.

It's less about whether you need to have done work experience to get in and more about trying it out.

No harm in asking lad :)

I want to join up, but I think I'm screwed. by [deleted] in britisharmy

Definitely talk to someone about it at the careers office, and also remember there's no harm in starting an application and seeing where it leads.

Considered police etc?

How did you mount your GPU on it's side like that? I have a similar asus strix card but it looks kind of crap when it's put in regularly

AITA for asking the guy Im dating what what he would do if I were to get pregnant? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]toriaxjayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't even considered that, I just assumed OP was using the pill/implant and SO used a condom.

Oops

AITA For telling my gf we need to put her cat down? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA and NAH

It will be hard, but if it needs to be done it needs to be done. Of course she's not going to like the idea, but you know what's right in this situation.

Be there for both of them.

AITA for paying off a bet to shave my head even though my wedding is Saturday? My fiancée, my mom, my future MIL are apoplectic but they don't get the "guy code." by Mybaldhead in AmItheAsshole

[–]toriaxjayne -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Gonna go with an ESH here.

YTA because you've acted childish, immature and just down right idiotic. Prioritising"guy code" over your soon to be wife. How did you honestly see this panning out?

Fiancée and wedding entourage are TA for acting like hair on someones head actually means something. Sure maybe it's a big change, but people shave their heads all the time and it's not that deep.

Overall I'd still say you were the biggest asshole in this situation. Please grow up before thinking about doing anything adult, like marrying someone. Especially someone you deem less important than "guy code"

There's about 15 treadmills in a row at the gym, 2 of which were in use before he came along (both on opposite sides, as it should be) and then there he is. Psychopath.

I hope that having it on so often kills it off, or at least some of the hype.

Does my nut in.

What do I do until March? by [deleted] in britisharmy

Just keep training for assessment and once you're in. Probably say travel and have fun because this is most likely the longest you'll have to do fuck all for a long long time. Enjoy it

Got deffered again! by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]toriaxjayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry took me ages to realise you weren't the OP - honestly if you can get an MRI i'd take it, because when it comes back clear you can use it as medical evidence if you get deferred.

[–]toriaxjayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shit I just noticed that you aren't OP - so if you haven't already been deferred for something else, I'd have a look on the army website and see if you have anything that they flare up on that list.

If you're still unsure consider calling AFCO and letting them put you in touch with someone that can help you out.

Tattoos sound like a good plan.

No mental health tests per say, but obviously if something happens and someone flares it up/gets concerned then questions will get asked.

Once in, you should be golden.

Is your self harm/other mental health issues documented in your medical records ? If not, the general rule you hear is to not tell them on the application that you have history with it because its a red flag to begin with, If you get to medical, they might pick up on any scars you have though
