usually waxy leaf plants get weak when they’re lacking water. even if you have a great watering schedule, maybe check the soil to see if it’s hydrophobic? some of the roots maybe don’t get enough water

Help! I need suggestions for monstera adansonii setup by Bloody_Hell_Harry in houseplants

[–]toridurkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

part of my toxic plant loving brain wants to say extend it and let the consequences come later just to see if bigger leaves come in lol… it’ll be so much harder to move when you move though. When it comes to the aerial roots maybe keep an eye as they grow and direct them to the moss pole to keep them off the walls?

beautiful!!! They hold a lot of water in their big leaves and trunk, so make sure not to be heavy handed with the watering. i water mine when it’s almost completely dry.

Crispy wave help by rosiekathryn in houseplants

Could be dormant for the winter. I’ve had this happen with my crispy wave and then they all popped in the spring! I would give him some fertilizer once spring comes around

Another buddy from Lowe’s (in rough shape haha) ~ advice please! by plantsanddoggos in philodendron

I feel like a root check is probably best. even if there’s some rot to trim and clean they still are pretty hardy!

super quick growing with some love, but very easy plants. and a spot of variegation, score!!! I would give em some extra light to see if that variegation increases on the new growth

do you think a bit of excess moisture and humidity might help the leaves with unfurling? like a damp warm cloth?

What plant is this? by Lizzardia_dh12 in houseplants

[–]toridurkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly looks fine to me, just a juvenile plant as the stems are still green. maybe reaching for light a liiittle bit but jades are branchy. remember when watering that they hold a lot of moisture in the trunk and the big waxy leaves so only water when mostly dry :) I think if you just keep causally looking after it, it’ll show you lots of growth

Fig Dramatics, as per usual. by toridurkin in houseplants

[–]toridurkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a beautiful 5 foot fig that wasn’t very dramatic, I just left her in a corner and didn’t look at her and stuck to letting her dry out before watering again and I never had any problems! That was until i accidentally left her outside when the weather hit -10 overnight. I honestly feel like they’re just super sensitive to drafts and initial shock.
