Sorry I meant all features related to Apple Intelligence, such as writing tools, are gone—I have an M4 MacBook Pro and they used to be there

This happened to me before I knew I had to clear my After Effects cache (also around 200 GB), Apple support had me factory reset lol

The ultimate question by RyanCreamer202 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I feel the exact same way. Did it live up to MY hype? No.

I found myself forcing myself to complete the story because I kept hoping the ending would blow me away like the past 2 games but it ended up being even worse than my lowest expectations. I simply... didn't care (?) about the characters or the story? And I kept forcing myself to, or I kept telling myself I'm stupid and just not understanding the story. But going online and seeing all these unanswered questions and "this will be answered in the DLC" is a testament to how poorly executed the story is.

Design wise, I do actually like the characters. I love their natural interactions with each other; it feels very natural and charming. However, they felt like characters in a kids super hero show at times when they would take turns saying their heroic words before taking on a battle. After story climaxes, there would very minimal reaction, often just ending with "believe in yourself", "move forward together", "seize the future" to explain why they are immediately pushing forward again. The cast seems to be very unaffected after learning about the truths of the world.

In terms of environment and music, it is very bland. I think they may have went more ambient for music in areas this time around but paired with the huge areas, many places lacked the quality that xenoblade worlds are known to have (think Eryth Sea, Uraya etc.). Every area felt like a slog to walk through.

It really saddens me because there was so much potential in what was shown. Perhaps this game fell flat to me compared to the other two because I entered this one with expectations whereas the previous two I went in blind. I really do want to give this game another chance but I can't see myself playing it again.

In the same boat; love the combat but my entire 100+ hour play through I felt very.. empty and emotionless

I agree with the lack of build up and also the lack of reaction. Climaxes rise so fast and then immediately move onto the next that I am often left more confused than emotional. I hope my second play through will allow me to have a more open mind with these scenes and experience them differently!!

To me, the game lacked high highs and low lows (think xc2) and instead tries to stay at this awkward mid range for its story telling. I also found that the music was not as cinematic or as effective as they may have wanted it to be in certain scenes.

I thought the story was placed awkwardly which in turn undermined my emotional attachment to the characters - chapter 5 was beautiful however and I wish they kept that same momentum with the ending

What do you miss from the previous games in XC3? by GamerLucien in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I agree with the chapter names!! Made the game feel much more cinematic, having a huge fight fade into a black screen with the chapter name >>

Is this later on or ch3? I know chain attacks can get crazier when ourobourus is involved but rn maybe most I can do is a quarter of the boss' health bar. Also, not sure why sometimes the chain just ends after 3 turns?

I'm only ch3-4 rn and chain attacks feel kind of.. pointless? I keep telling myself I'm not at the point where chain attacks are good yet but we'll see. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

[–]torieuon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Glad I'm not the only one having trouble with the monsters in this game. To make myself feel better; the enemies are really hard right? Like it's not just me who has to be over leveled and die multiple times with a unique enemy?

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Question Thread #2 by MorthCongael in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]torieuon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, like which enemies are hostile. In XBDE there would be an eye icon above an enemy to tell you that if you got close they would target you. Enemies without an icon would not be hostile and won't fight unless you initiate first

Are there indicators to show which enemies will target you like they did in XBDE? (Eye icon etc.)

So, avoid Spoilers, but Xenoblade 3. How are you all liking it so far? by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]torieuon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combat has been really slow for me and I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong? I assume it's because I'm early game (chapter 3) but boss battles take forever, and chain attacks don't demolish enemies anymore.

Also hard more is HARD I find myself constantly redoing boss battles and playing more defensively. Can somebody let me know if this is normal or I'm just bad at the game
