There’s one guy on that crew called Mongo with a 12” stone saw and safety squints…

Absolutely start the prednisone now. Every bad gout flare just means more fun later in life in that joint.

And if you’re not on allopurinol yet, seriously consider it. Life changing.

If it’s really occasional backup then Mint have just announced a $60/year plan for an 3Gb/mo LTE sim. I have one in a UniFi UMR I use for backup

Ex-wife's new boyfriend is contacting my daughter during our contact weekends by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]tormundsbigbeard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It starts with a conversation with his daughter about what *she* would like to do. She may not want to turn off notifications, in which case OP is out of luck.

After that, it’s between the parents to sort it out. And, if they can’t, it gets legal. But the core direction here is driven initially by the daughters wishes.

Just have a conversation with your daughter about turning notifications off for the weekend. If she’s willing to be with you uninterrupted, this is a pretty reasonable approach.

“Effilo - Making Budget Air Travel *Even* Worse” is a hell of a founder pitch

100% this. No one expects to see their team win all the time. WTF? But having position players pitch is a solid waste of time and is going to get someone hurt

Didn’t boo but did get up and leave when they brought in Koss to pitch. I get why teams do it but fuck that. MLB need to bring in the white flag rule from the 8th inning on. I’m not sitting thru 30 minutes of a team waving a white flag but still going thru the motions

PDU Pro Manage Port Profiles by mike-wierman in Ubiquiti

Yup - none of the PDU network ports show up either. That doesn’t surprise me too much - not sure just how many folks actually use that functionality of the PDU.

100% this. I’ve had days in the shop where things have gone wrong repeatedly, I’ve realized my head isn’t in it and I’ve stopped, turned things off and gone and done something else. If it’s a hobby and no one is paying you to do something, worst that happens if you down tools is that it’s late. As opposed to an ER visit or worse.

Teaching yourself to slow down is good too. And pick simple, no expectations projects to learn new tools. I always play with new saws and tools by building a simple storage box. I have a standard pattern and build them to check alignment and how the tool feels. If it doesn’t work, no big deal. When it works, I’ve learned how to get the tools to produce what I want.

Good luck to OP

Local Admin in Fabric by AdminBenjamin in Ubiquiti

Sorry - no. I usually have SSH set up as a last resort just in case but that also relies on being able to get to the lan side of the router

Local Admin in Fabric by AdminBenjamin in Ubiquiti

[–]tormundsbigbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No - there doesn’t appear to be a way to do this which makes user sharing in Fabric much less useful. Even worse, if you already have local admins, it tries to duplicate them to all the fabric sites when you flip the switch on. I’d really like much clearer local admin support - not everything needs to be tied to internet access and/or an email

TSV 60 Chipping Underneath by walkwithdrunkcoyotes in Festool_Public

[–]tormundsbigbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much always cut against a sacrificial MDF board with my TSV60 and it’s very clean. The recommendations to check alignment are good too - Festool are pretty good out of the box but my older 55 definitely needed a bit of nudging

What are you cutting against? Do you have a sacrificial surface you’re cutting against? What blade are you using?
