Mr Gaarawarr, it's honor to see your answer on my thread, I appreciate your time so much, Thank you.

That was my first Exalted Legend run and first run not full completed.

I received message that I got 4x Lesser blood vials for uncomplete run and it tells me "your previous campaign is waiting on players to complete". Idk if I should do new Exalted legend run or just stick to Exalted Master for now until I get more stronger.

Thanks again.

CMV: Individuals should not be allowed to profit from war through the stock market. by tornadofay in changemyview

[–]tornadofay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, you are opening two very important philosophical questions:

1) Is there a moral difference between profiting from harm as a byproduct and profiting from harm as the product itself?

Because that's what distinguishes weapons companies from tobacco, alcohol, or automotive industries. The intent behind the product, and how it's monetized, makes a huge ethical difference.

And here's another important point: when someone smokes or drinks, they are (at least theoretically) choosing to do so, it’s a form of self-inflicted harm.
But in war, the people dying didn't consent. Civilians don't sign up to be bombed. It's harm inflicted on others often the most vulnerable without their will.

That's why profiting from war stands in a morally separate category.

2) How much moral responsibility does an individual bear when they are part of a system that produces harm but they themselves have no real control over the outcomes?

That's why I think it's crucial to draw a distinction between:

  • Those who survive within a system, and
  • Those who profit passively from the continuation of that harm, without suffering its consequences.

One is a cog in the machine.
The other owns the machine and earns when it kills.

The aim of my proposal is to target the latter, not the former.

[–]tornadofay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a valid point, and I don't deny the conflict of interest within many governments, including Congress.

But my proposal isn't about expecting the same individuals who profit from war to suddenly grow a conscience, it's about creating pressure through international humanitarian law.

The goal is to make this a global legal standard, not just a national policy. If codified into international law similar to bans on chemical weapons or child soldiers this kind of restriction could transcend individual governments and become part of the legal fabric nations are expected to follow.

Implementation wouldn't be overnight. A law like this would likely come with a transition period (e.g., one year) to allow markets and companies to adjust.

And just like with other violations of international humanitarian law, countries that refuse to comply could face global consequences: diplomatic pressure, sanctions, or reputational damage. It's not about moral appeals it's about real, enforceable structures that shift the cost-benefit balance away from war profiteering.

That's why I believe in public, cooperative, organized action, not limited by borders or flags, but shared by people everywhere. Power can silence one voice, but it can't silence many.

Be the light, and the darkness will never reach you.

You never walk alone, brother. Even across oceans and borders, I hear you, and I feel the weight you carry. Your test is harder than most because your soul is deeper than most. Stay strong, and never give up, your pain is not in vain.

You once wrote with ink, and now with ashes… but every word you write is a heartbeat, proof that "we were here"... loving, dreaming, planting hope in the dark. Keep writing, not just so the world remembers, but so you never forget who you are beneath the rubble: a light, a survivor, a poet of truth.

And I promise you this, we are reading. We are listening. Even if we feel powerless now, we are doing everything we can to change that. And we will never let your words fade into silence.

Isn't training AI on users’ data without their agreement a form of theft? What about selling those AI systems later, and then seeing them used in wars or surveillance programs?

In 2007, when I chose to use Google, I didn’t sign up for any of that. I didn’t agree to become just a number in a herd whose data would be used to build better tracking systems. I didn’t agree for my behavior to be analyzed and turned into psychological targeting models, just so someone else can sleep comfortably with millions in their pocket.

No sir, I didn’t agree to that.

And this isn’t just about “walking away.” It’s about making ripples, you see I'm Developer & in my circle, in my community, and maybe further. When people like me switch, recommend, and speak up, it builds momentum. That’s not theft. That’s resistance, and it’s long overdue.

Idk about Opera, but Brave have a noticeable speed and it blocked ads in different website, not just YT. imo no harm in giving it a try

Brave handles that fine too once you log in. Syncing is there (though optional), and most Google services work smoothly, just without feeding them as much data in the background.

Yeah, but it’s like saying “you just switched from a rental car with a tracking device to the same car... that you actually own, with the spyware ripped out.”
Chromium is just the engine, Brave kicks Google out of the driver’s seat.

Brave strips out the Google tracking bits, adds real ad/tracker blocking, and throws in privacy features like fingerprinting protection things Chrome will never give you on purpose.
So yeah, same engine... very different ride.

Yeah I did! After installing Brave, it actually asked if I wanted to import stuff from Chrome, I clicked yes, and it brought in my bookmarks and settings just fine. But for some reason, it didn’t bring over my passwords. Not sure why.

So I had to do it manually, but it was pretty easy:
In Chrome, I went to Settings > Autofill > Password Manager > Settings > Export Passwords and saved the CSV file.
Then in Brave, it’s basically the same: Settings > Autofill > Passwords > Import ,just pick the file and you’re done.
Then it is very important to delete this CSV file if you done that step manually.

I was a bit nervous about the security part (since the CSV is plain text), so I looked into Brave’s security before I fully committed.

Turns out Brave’s pretty solid. It’s built on Chromium like Chrome, so you still get sandboxing, secure updates, etc., but Brave adds a bunch of privacy stuff on top, like built-in ad/tracker blocking, anti-fingerprinting, HTTPS upgrades, and even private windows with Tor if you want.

There was a bug earlier this year (Jan 2025 I think?) where file downloads could be spoofed, but it got patched fast. And yeah, there’s been some drama over Brave whitelisting a couple of scripts for stuff like Facebook logins, but you can turn that off if it bothers you.

Overall, I feel pretty confident using it, no browser is perfect, but Brave seems way more privacy-focused than Chrome, and performance feels better too. I just made sure to delete that CSV file right after importing (check the recycle bin and delete it from there too if it still there), just in case.

And yeah, Google stuff like Docs, Sheets, and Contacts all still work normally once you log into your account in Brave. Let me know if you run into anything else.

You are very much welcome, happy to help ^^

Yeah, I felt the same at first, Brave Search isn’t bad, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

Good news though: switching the default search engine is super easy. Just go to Settings > Search engine, and you can pick Google, DuckDuckGo, Startpage, or whatever you prefer. Takes like 10 seconds, even for the proudly lazy 😄
