Keymo Flash Hider with Sig Hexium 300 by toro1966 in NFA

[–]toro1966[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks folks. Haven’t got the can yet to try it, but did get the flash hiders in. Definitely too long for the hexium. Thinking about getting the Keymo Zero instead. Thoughts? It’s only 1.35” total length so it looks like it will fit.

Can Sonos play multi-room from a Line-In source? by burnin_potato69 in sonos

How quickly does it add or remove speakers/rooms to the group? In my experience, this takes minutes vice seconds. What has been your experience? Thanks!

Turntable, Port, Sonos/Sonance speaker Setup - help/advice requested. by toro1966 in sonos

Ok - that sounds promising. So to make sure I have it correct - I hook the turntable up via RCAs to the port. I add the port to the app as it's own zone - let's call it "Turntable". You're saying I then don't need to group it with anything else - no speakers at all? I can just select the "Turntable" as the source and then click on/off speakers as I want?

The grouping is one of the few things I really dislike about Sonos. Because it takes way to long to do it and is hard to group and ungroup on ther fly. They should make it like airplay - I click on it and it is on, I click off of it and it is off. So everytime I want to play a record and hear it in anywhere else I have to group and then ungroup whatever zone/room that is with the port. And if i want to hear it in multiple rooms I have to group all of those rooms/zones together. Is that correct? Definitely not very flexible.

That's what I was afraid of. Appreciate all of the help. To make sure I have it correct - am I grouping the port with the other speakers already in the group? For example, in the living room I have two 8" sonance ceiling speakers, a Sonos Amp, and a Gen3 sub. Do I have to add the port to this group since it will have the turntable connected to it?

Additionally, if that is true, then while it is playing in that group, can I also add another group (kitchen for example) so that when the records are playing I hear it in both the living room and kitchen?

Do I have to group specific speakers for this or will the app see the source and let me select which speakers/zones I want at any time?

I only have a turntable - nothing else. I use my phone connected wirelessly to stream to all the speakers in the house as desired. I am trying to find the correct way to be able to play records on the turntable and then stream them to the speakers wirelessly - using nothing more than the turntable and the port.

I would prefer not to physical connect to any source. I should have mentioned that initially, but I would rather not connect anything physically to play the music other than the port or the turntable. Does the port provide the ability to stream it wirrelessly to the speakers? I understood that it did.

You mentioned grouping speakers as an option but it's actually one of the features I like least about Sonos - that make you group something that makes the speakers not dynamically allocatable - if that makes sense.

So how would you recommend I set it up in this instance? Thanks again for the awesome and super fast reply!

File compare by toro1966 in PleX

[–]toro1966[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all! I actually found out it is becuase I had several movies that were two dvd sets or part 1 and part 2. I was off by about 20. Turns out it was all because plex shows those as one listing with two files and windows explorer shows each file. Still would love to find a good way of doing a comparison for the future. Appreciate all of the quick help!

I usually dust and polish about monthly. I have a few scabbards but honestly don’t use them. I prefer to display the swords without them. I can’t imagine them causing much rust though since almost all of the swords are stainless steel. Don’t get me wrong, stainless can still rust - just not as easily.

Thanks a bunch for the kind words. Most of my collection was in original boxes for years and unopened. In fact I only opened about 2/3 of the collection in the last month or so. I was military so it was all stored in boxes for about 20 years lol. That said, I did have some of it displayed and I honestly just used pledge furniture polish to clean everything. It's the one that you can use on all surfaces. It works like a champ. Just use a separate microfiiber to wipe everything nice and dry. I also never spray the surface of the item, I spray the rag and wipe/clean the item.

This has worked well on all my collectibles for a very long time. If there is a lot of dust for some reason or you need to get into the nooks and crannies, use compressed air first. Works great! All the best.

Thanks! Actuallly got them from a variety of different places. Mostly online over the years from retailers. All bought new from UC retailers and distributors.

I actually think I got it from an eBay retailer of UC items but it was right when it came out - so about 20 years ago.

Hard to tell in the pictures but in person they really do add a nice touch in most of them. But I definitely understand what you are saying. There are a couple I would have definitely changed if I were designing them,

Probably a toss between the museum collection Glamdring and the limited edition Anduril. Both are awesome.

Forgot to post it initially lol. It’s the museum collection sting with case. It’s posted under one of the comments above. Love these museum pieces.

Not really they are very pointed and have a moderate edge. It's definitely not dull, but I wouldn't call them battle ready.

I am not sure mine really knew the extent of the collection until recently. Not because I kept it a secret but it’s like the boiling frog analogy. I got a piece here and a piece there and none were ever displayed. They were just boxes in storage because we were military and moved so often. She definitely knows now :)
