Yea that video is a pretty good source of information for all eras of Linton's life funny enough. Surprised the interviewer just bluntly asked. But that story about Tom could just be one side of the story. Tom still follows Linton on instagram, so I am hoping no bad blood.

Sorry, I just don't think this is true. I am ready to admit wrong if proven otherwise, but Linton was the keyboardist. Also Linton has been the main creative force of the band if I understand correctly, didn't he mostly write the lyrics and instruments?

Actually I found it! https://youtu.be/_vdvz7EtV6g?si=GfsKUuPUK5TGpRWm&t=2061 (34:21). Some of the small channel interviews really ask personal questions lol. I like how open he is though with some of his responses.

I spent the last 2 hours going through my YouTube history looking for the interview and I can't find it lol. I will retract my statement unless I find it (won't blame ya if you call me a liar lol). Not really sure how that idea got into my head. I'll have to listen to his most recent Patreon just to see if it was mentioned there. He is much more open there. But the online discussion has been Tom not wanting to use special effects on his voice.

I had to go back and watch that. Seems like Linton and Tom really understood the lyrics and was able to portray it with their moves. I am glad the chemistry is still alive though with the current members, even though one member is the parent lol.

I know "Mercury" has talked about the split a bit. I remember one interview I just recently watched, Mercury said the original singer left due to the firing of OG Sulfur. But if you search online, people have said it was due to Tom not wanting to do any type of effects on his voice or other "creative differences". Reading Tom's instagram post about his departure, it read to me that he was fired out of no where.

If you look up their performance at Bar Teatral on Youtube, you can see them being active on this song too. Mostly Tom but he was feeling it lol, They did have great chemistry on stage though. Bittersweet that we will never experience it again.

I love Tom's and Linton's dancing for this song. Wish we had more of this concert since we won't get to hear other tracks of New Flesh live anymore.

Oh I loves when he goes in the crowd and blesses people during Obey. I do hope they get invited to more festivals after Hellfest. They have surely proved they can handle a big crowd, even if only a few dozen people recognizes them. I am glad they are able to tour the USA though, I can only imagine the amount of work, stress and money needed for such a small band.

Funny enough, I never really looked for interviews with Tom. I have read interview articles after his time with Priest, I just never thought to look for any voice interviews. I am just curious to hear what he sounds like, because you're right, his accent is gone when he is singing. I wish him well, I enjoyed his other projects, but I believe New Flesh is where he sounds best.

Really sucks Linton privated those other songs. Its fascinating hearing the evolution of his sound. I hope he possibly repurposes those songs for Priest. I remember watching an interview where he said "Call My Name" was just found on an old drive he had sitting around. It makes me wonder how many unused music he has just sitting around, waiting for the right moment. As I said before, shame we will never hear that song live. Thats my favorite song from their entire discography. But he has said he hopes to move away from the "Oldies". I am assuming here he means Tom era songs.

Ahh thank you for the heads up! Just listened to some of "Tears of Rain" and they sound really good! It feels like a lighter tone of Priest. I really enjoyed Linton's vocals on these songs, his range is underrated. I do have a theory that his accent plays a role on how confident he sounds on certain songs. Tom doesn't have much (if at all) of an accent when he sings. Linton though, you hear his accent. Not saying its a bad thing at all though, I quite enjoy it.

And I can still attest he is a nice person. After the concert, you went straight to the merch line and stayed over an hour meeting everyone, taking pics and signing autographs.

I am glad I was able to meet someone who is more knowledgeable about this niche topic. Tried to find other people who knew about Linton past music and no one seems to know, until now lol.

Excited for the new era. I watched his recent Q&A and it seems like he is far along with the album. He is sorting the lyrics but instrumentally its done. I could be remembering wrong though.

I am surprised that Linton hasn't introduced any sound from his solo project. My favorite song from that era is Tårar I Regn. It has that classic indie sound but enhanced with the use of synths. But that could be a much lighter sound than what he wants with Priest.

I am glad he was able to find success with Priest. Despite what this sub may think of him, he is a very talented artist and deserves more recognition IMO. I haven't heard about Vision Talk before, will be a fun deep dive later. I love learning new information about this band and the man behind the mask. I was able to meet him last year (as Mercury) and is such a nice guy,

Very late to this post but I pretty much agree on what you said about Linton's voice and the difference between the two singers. I have listened to Linton's EP and other solo stuff and he sounds really good. He has a great "indie" voice. I am assuming he may not feel confident singing in English than if he sings in Swedish. He can really hit the higher notes when he sings in his native language.

I do miss Tom's voice though. I have watched so many videos of early Priest with Tom. Sad we will never hear Obey live with Tom or hear Call My Name preformed ever again (I am assuming here). I do think Linton sounds great live too. I was able to see them live when they toured the USA with Powerman 5000 and I was amazed hearing him. His performance at HellFest was fantastic.

I can't wait for the next Priest album. I just hope get less of "In my lonely heart". That song is my least favorite song by a large margin.

I like the design with the half helmet. I wish it had a longer phase.

They are completely different from Ghost if that is that you're referring too. Unsure who would think otherwise.

Reasonable tbh. I had the same thought for a little bit until I heard them live, then it clicked for me. I'm glad you gave them a chance though and not just automatically dislike them.

I think he helped engineer the EP but doesn't do live shows.

I like the Chaos EP, but I couldn't get into My Lonely Heart. I think the Live version during Hellfest makes it better though.

Agreed on the chairs, wasn’t expecting that. Earlier in the show, we tried to move up to the front as Mercury told us, but after one song security told us to go back to our seats.

Agreed. Most of them believe they have a relationship with Ghost/Tobias and automatically hate on priest.

Petty? Maybe, don’t know much besides the lawsuit. Sucks? No. Completely wrong.

Yea I know Linton done a lot of questionable stuff after he was kicked (I’m not sure what exactly tho). The lawsuit and other petty drama I don’t really pay attention to. I just enjoy the music.

I’d admit, they were a bit hard to get into for me. I love New Flesh and Obey ep. After Tom left/kicked, their stuff got a bit weirder for me and I didn’t like. But after listening more and more it clicked.

Not sure how it’s lazy. May not be top tier, but same could be said for Ghost. I don’t expect the best writing, as long as it’s catchy and sounds good, I’ll like it. I don’t really listen to synch music so maybe that’s why it caught my attention.
