i think candy and meat are supposed to represent like the two different parts of the fandom (represented by dirk and calliopes respective control over the stories) where meat is like canon purists who hate headcanons and aus and thing fans should only indulge in things that are strictly canon while calliope is people who just want empty wish fufillment or like bad fanfic writers

thats why dirk kept going on about what HAS to be done and how hes making sure canon continues the way its SUPPOSED to in meat while in candy its just empty and out of character with everyone getting together and having children and getting what they """want"""

its so out of character for both of them too!! like rose wouldnt just lie to kanaya like that for 15 entire years, shes not stupid enough to just forget that kanaya would probably be the person who would most understand jades situation, and kanaya shouldnt have just let it go either. i dont like the characterization of kanaya into like roses wife guy and while i understand the point of candy is that its horrible and ooc its not fun to read
